With my JD MX6, I just sheared the vertical shaft from the gear box to the pan. Was making a turn while cutting and the pan apparently settled on a small mound of dirt (not rock). Have hit a lot of rocks with no damage. Could not believe seeing the pan lying in the dirt. Now JD wants $1400...
