TC29D auger stuck, freed, but now won't start

So that brought up another question. My helper plugged the wires in for me before I got a chance to intervene. The two wires coming off the switch are black, but the ones that plug it into the harness are orange and green. Please tell me it makes no difference...

TC29D rear transmission safety switch "balk pin" -

@TractorTech you're a lifesaver! Logic prevails. So then, one more question. I did check the switch while installed and had continuity. Didn't get the opportunity to check the switch's plunger action in the rush to reinstall it into the transmission case...however, the manual says that it...

TC29D auger stuck, freed, but now won't start

@dlctcg, I searched around for a balk pin thread but no joy. Started a new one to see if anybody knows which way that pin goes. I really appreciate your sharing the manual. Mine didn't address it at all. Makes you wonder...I guess posting is like fishing, if you don't throw your line in, you...

TC29D rear transmission safety switch "balk pin" -

This is part 2 to "it won't start"...but in tracing circuits on my tractor, rI emoved the rear PTO safety switch and the pin fell out. It is rounded on one end and flat on the other. Which way does it go back into the transmission? Two different parts diagrams are of little help, actually have...

TC29D auger stuck, freed, but now won't start

Wow, that is a real help. My manual shows pretty much the same diagram, which is how I found the balk pin. However, it didn't say anything about the pin (nor the hydro bath, but that wasn't a surprise!) I had tested it in the machine, but since the manual showed it with "pin out" and "pin in"...

TC29D auger stuck, freed, but now won't start

I wish that was the issue. I checked both with a meter - check my post with the picture with what "may" have fallen out of the transmission from the rear PTO safety switch...

TC29D auger stuck, freed, but now won't start

I pulled out the shop manual and went down the line on the testing for "no start" conditions. The manual neglects to mention that removing the rear PTO switch comes with a quick dose of hydraulic fluid. I knew this already as I just did the 9 gallons or so when I did the filters! BUT, I found...

TC29D auger stuck, freed, but now won't start

Good intentions...was digging a hole for a new flag pole and the auger stuck on a root. After digging out the root and trying the auger several times, suddenly the tractor wouldn't start. Lights came on the dash, but nothing. A friend came over and used a huge crescent wrench and turned the main...

New Holland FEL noisy - what's the problem?

I've attached a video of the noise my TC29D is making. Hope someone can help me figure out what to do. I changed one of the FEL's hydraulic hoses. I cannot find anywhere in the shop manual how to bleed the air from the system. The noise gets worse with higher RPM/pressure from the pump. First...

Do I need to remove TC29D fuel tank to replace tank bushing?

So the rubber bushing on the bottom of my fuel tank gave out and I bought a new one to replace it. And thanks to the "TC33 fuel tank removal" thread, will replace the fuel line with the Gates Barricade hose. Do I have to remove the tank to replace the bushing? Trying to plan for the worst case...

TC29D red parking brake plunger stuck

Thanks Iman. I keep mine under shelter, too. I'm in South Carolina so we always seem to have high humidity. Everything needs extra attention. I guess it goes without saying, "there's ALWAYS something to do!" Appreciate your input!

TC29D red parking brake plunger stuck

I wanted to let everyone know that I got it fixed! I tried to use the cable luber - it was pretty awkward, but managed to get a gracious dose of PB Blaster Silicone down the sleeve. I also had a good look at the whole mechanism, the spring was fine and nothing was broken or missing. Had a field...

TC29D red parking brake plunger stuck

Hi guys, had a little dermatology procedure which turned into a surgery so one eye's swollen just about shut. I'll have to wait a few more days to look at it. Any particular cable luber you'd recommend?

best source to download repair manuals??

Looking for a shop manual for my New Holland TC29D. Lots of folks out there offering "the originals professionals use"... but I've read some reviews that files were made from photocopied manuals, complete with oil spots and torn pages. Many of the sites don't list any company info, making me...

TC29D red parking brake plunger stuck

Hi everybody, so I'm a firm believer in safety, and use that little red plunger to set the parking brake. Now it's stuck in the "up"/engaged position. Pushing on the brake pedals don't do the trick to release it. Any suggestions? THANKS!

    Mayday! TC29D won't start!

OK fellas (and ladies!), really need your help. My little tractor will not start. A very experienced mechanic and I have been all over this thing for hours; make that days now. We had a bevy of issues, all of which we dealt with as we diagnosed. Starter (new) and battery (new). Glow plug timer...

TC29D starter replaced but won't turn flywheel

My '98 New Holland TC29D wouldn't start, so we checked the battery (good) and then the starter (bad). We bench tested it and the pinion would turn but not go out. So we bought a new starter, bench tested it and it was good. Installed it on the tractor, and it would do the CLICK but wouldn't turn...
