    Intro into Brazing

Yes, you are correct. I had to really look around to find a filler that would work with me. I already had my own tanks when we moved to a new city, I'm in Central FL area and I tried several of the "big boys" and not a chance. I found Williams Welding that worked but after about 10 years, went...

    Intro into Brazing

I do quite of bit of brazing, I have tried the Mapp sys and it is not worth the time to pay for it. Do what Wrangler X says, get a small set if you plan on not doing much. They are small bottles and can be moved easily. When you get the hang of it, you might want to get the bigger bottles, just...

Bulldozer comes off of trailer, kills 2

I would assume this is true as there is no place for it to go except out the gate, so you better make sure it is "pig tight". I believe this is true in all states since there is no place to attach a chain to on the truck.

Bulldozer comes off of trailer, kills 2

I don't think this is a bulldozer, since it does not have a "blade" in front, it has a bucket, it is a "tracked frontend loader", I thought something looked familiar about this pic, I have one very similar to this, narrow tracks too. The tracks are not sharp like a dozer's and will slide very...

Buying Advice Diesel smog emission stuff?

Just to put out an opinion here, I would not own a tractor, or big truck that you had to add DEF, or any thing to in order to run it. Just fuel and go, change oils and filters, nothing more. I got an old Freightliner, would not trade it for a new one either. The company I used to work for has...

Moving from 1/2 ton truck to HD truck

Moving from 1/2 ton truck to HD truck

Good question, married 39 years this year and being on the road might be the reason. Divorce lawyer, never considered it.😁😁

    58 MPG by 2032

Well, after putting in over 20 years with tractor trailers and 80 plus mph, I got news for you, 80,000lb truck running 80 plus is down right dangerous, even on the interstate. Mine will run 87 but you have to calculate stopping distance when some idiot does something stupid in front of you. I am...

Moving from 1/2 ton truck to HD truck

Here is something to consider since you are having a hard time finding something that will pull, just buy a Peterbuilt, or Freightliner and pull anything including your house right off the foundation.

Buying Advice Diesel smog emission stuff?

This may not have occurred to you but why don't you just buy an older tractor before all the electronics came out? We bought a 80s model JD tractor, 80hp engine for 5,500 bucks, runs good but leaks a bit of oil. Put 5,000 more in all the seals, and maybe even a engine overhaul and you got a...

Tractor for land clearing and preparation

I used to do land clearing and logging. You can do it but you will have to have a special "rake" (not a root rake) to clean the brush up. We used frontend loaders with such a rake. It will uproot most trees up to about a 3 inch diam pretty easy. I operated a special rake like we used on the...

Should I even think about 2 wheel drive

Something everyone seems to be forgetting is you are working on steep inclines. Since I'm a retired truck driver I can tell you your first problem is ROLLOVER! Not traction! There are many ways to get a log down a hill, pull it, push it or just start it rolling and it will take care of the...
