I'd stay away from Moffet/Piggyback fork lifts. They have a mile of hydraulic hoses and around here they get pretty rusted from the road salt.

Not really . The pins just keep the rods from unscrewing all the way out. If u take the screw out and turn the rod out u should see the pin its near the end .

If you take those screws out and unscrew the ends there are pins that keep the ends from unscrewing all the way out . You can pull the pins out and unscrew the rods all the way out .

And the hoses stay attached to the backhoe.. My old jd had 1 hose on the tractor and 1 on the backhoe you looped the tractor hose back to the tractor when the hoe was off.

I tried it on mine I have 2 of those valves if I move them to 3 point hitch my backhoe wont work....

It wont when you move the valve to 3 point hitch it stops the flow to the backhoe.

When you take the backhoe off you switch the lever from backhoe to 3 point hitch and it changes the flow path. I can leave my backhoe on the tractor and switch the valve and the backhoe wont work but the 3 point hitch will..

If its bypassing its heating up the hyd oil. once probably wont hurt..

No because of the hose end fittings it will dead head the pump and open the pressure release valve .

You don't need to connect the hoses together just move that black lever to 3 point hitch from the backhoe position then take the hoses off and the backhoe off.....

Well you could just replace the 2 that are leaking or change them all. It's not going to make that much off a difference changing them all except a few more dollars and time...You could go to a parts store that makes hoses or try Discount hyd hose or surplus center..
