    2305 Three Point Questions

I was trying to use a homemade receiver hitch that I made for my old tractor (Jinma 254). It was a Cat 1 and it worked fine. I thought I made it to Cat 1 specs.. I will look into a quick attach.

    2305 Three Point Questions

I'm trying to get Cat 1 implements onto my 2305. I cannot get the arms to open wide enough. I called JD support and their answer was to run out the adjustment all the way, which does open it, but not enough, and just makes it lopsided. Is this thing not meant to hold Cat 1 implements, or am I...

Jinma 254 with FEL Exhaust Reroute

I finally snapped off my exhaust on a tree branch. I know I've seen some threads about rerouting the exhaust down on these rigs with FELs, but the search is failing me. Does anyone have that info readily available?

Looking for ideas on device to lift lumber onto racks

I've got a small shed that's wide enough for lumber racks on one side, and a path that I can drive through on the other. I'm looking for a way that I can easily load and unload fairly heavy wood slabs onto the top shelf of the rack. The rack will be cantilevered, and the top will be about 5...

Replacing Clutch - Which parts to get?

I haven't checked the tach sensor. Should just be able to put a volt meter on it, right? Here's the rest of the gauges. They've had a rough go of it

Convert Gas Powered Chipper To PTO?

I recently picked up an old (pretty early, likely '80s though I'm not sure since the model number has worn off) Troybilt Super Tomahawk chipper. The motor runs ok, but the performance is underwhelming. Would the conversion to PTO be simple as taking off the motor, putting on one of these (PTO...

Replacing Clutch - Which parts to get?

Based on my other recent thread it sounds like I'm going to need to replace the clutch in my Jinma 254. The complete clutch assembly is about $400, or I can get the individual plates for about $60 each (pto plate and main plate). Is there any reason why I would need to get the whole assembly...

Jinma 254 - General Operational Question

Ok, I think I understand this now, and if someone could let me know if I got this right, that would be great. For the main clutch, there are these two measurements ("A" and "B" in photo) that can be made on all three fingers. They are tied together (adjusting "A" will change "B"). The...

Jinma 254 - General Operational Question

From my reading, if the clutch is slipping, that means I need more pressure on the plate. None of the articles I've found indicate how to do that, they're all how to set the free-play. Is adjusting this gap here how I get more pressure?

Jinma 254 - General Operational Question

Since this is my first time owning a tractor and first time piloting one (besides a lawn mower) since I was a youngster, there are some things I'm not really sure about operationally, particularly regarding gearing. The tractor doesn't stall. If I put it in a gear and let off the clutch, it...

    What is this thing?

I bought a Bush Hog Finish Mower in an auction, and this was with it, but I don't think they belong together.

    Jinma 254 Starter Troubles

I can't be 100% sure it's the right starter, but I trust the supplier that it is. It's tough to take measurements on it, but it seems like the new starter has about 1/4" less travel than the old one. Is that enough to make a difference? Here are pictures of the new starter. Should the...

    Jinma 254 Starter Troubles

I ended up getting an all new reduction gear starter from Affordable. It's still not starting. I've installed a relay on the ignition wire, so I'm very confident wiring is not the issue. Here's the full sequence of what happened: Yesterday, when I put the new starter on, the bottom bolt...

What can go wrong in a spool valve?

Where would that check valve be located? Any idea what this piece is here? Here it is removed. I've attached the PDF of the mechanical drawing if that helps also.

    Jinma 254 Starter Troubles

My starter is not working in my 254. It started out nice and strong, but slowly got to the point where it would spin, but it was not engaging the flywheel. I took apart the solenoid, cleaned up the terminals, put it back together, and it started working again for a couple weeks until it...

What can go wrong in a spool valve?

I've been having on-going problems with my FEL/spool valve. The lift function is not working. I disassembled the cylinders and the seals were shot, so I replaced them. I disassembled the spool for the lift function and didn't see any obstructions or anything that looked out of the ordinary...

Finding point of failure - diverter valve or FEL control valve

Had a buddy help me get it off. Destroyed the gland nut in the process, but this is what he found. I still haven't seen it in person, just the picture. It looks like the piston seals are completely gone. As in not there.

Any tips on removing the gland nut from a Koyker 140 lift cylinder? Crescent has done nothing but tear it up.

Finding point of failure - diverter valve or FEL control valve

I got the spool apart and checked, and everything seems fine Everything was held together and there was no debris or anything. I'm having issues getting it back together though. There are two ball bearings that fit inside a sleeve. I can't get the bearings in far enough to get the sleeve...

Finding point of failure - diverter valve or FEL control valve

The diagram isn't very clear on it. It should be more like this: There's a quick disconnect coming off the pump. Without the FEL in place it connects to another QD that goes into the priority valve. With the FEL, the line comes off the pump into the FEL, then out of the FEL and into the...

Finding point of failure - diverter valve or FEL control valve

Ok, I got my pressure gauge hooked up, and I've learned a few things. First of all, I was under the assumption this tractor was a common sump, so I was checking the transmission for fluid level, which was fine. The hydraulic fluid, on the other hand, was probably over a gallon low. I went...

Finding point of failure - diverter valve or FEL control valve

There is no switching the diverter as far as I know, it happens automagically.

Finding point of failure - diverter valve or FEL control valve

It's a Jinma 254. The way I understand it is that it's a priority valve to provide pressure to either the 3pt or power steering. I'm attaching the hydraulic routing diagram I've found. The FEL has 6 hoses. One from the pump, one that feeds into the diverter, and 4 for the cylinders.

Finding point of failure - diverter valve or FEL control valve

I'm working my way through my issues. I've mostly got the leaky banjos under control, got my clutch adjusted, now I just need to figure out why my FEL isn't working. It's a Koyker 140. It won't move in any direction. When I first bought it, if we wiggled the steering wheel a bit, that seemed...

Jinma 254 - Hydraulic Washer Question

I pulled the trigger on a used 254, so here I go. First issue I'm tackling is a leaky washer on one of the banjo bolts on the diverter. They were a bit cracked and one of them would leak pretty bad under pressure. Heard good things about Affordable Tractor around here so I ordered from them...

Crush Washers - Aluminum, Copper, or Rubber?

I've got some cracked and leaking washers on a couple banjo bolts (on the diverter valve). OEM is rubber, is it better to keep them rubber, or would copper or aluminum be an improvement?

ID request on this tractor. Pictures inside.

This is my first post here and if things go right you'll be seeing a lot of me. I'm in the market for a small tractor to do some light work around the house and came across this one on craigslist. Tried searching for all the English words "yancheng municipality tractor works 200", which led me...
