Did I break my little XJ?

We got 16" of snow on top of existing 12" and the temperature has been around -10°f to 3°f for the last 3 days. I was out pushing some snow, making a path to my skids of firewood which I store all the way on the other side of the property because of rodent issues. well... about halfway, the snow...

Enclosed cargo trailers... steel vs aluminum?

I have been looking at purchasing an enclosed car hauler/cargo trailers and have several options, but was wondering if its worth the extra for an all aluminum instead of steel/alum? Do they hold up better or worse? I have only ever owned steel trailers which the paint falls off and they get...

Projects you wish you never started....

I have quite a few of these... but 4 years ago I set out to replace the entire heating system in my old house on a new basement. There is now 2000 feet of PEX routed in the sub-floor with a 10 port/zone manifold, each room has its own thermostat and the basement slab is heated but is only 1...

the stock lights on the XJ are just blocked by the loader and are not very bright I bought some 7" cheapo flood beam combo led light bar lights from amazon for $30 and 4 4" cubes for $10 each. I installed the 7" with 1 forward and 1 backward. The others were going to be for the sides (1-2...

Let my neighbor borrow my tractor...

Came home from the store and I seen my neighbor, who just got back from spending the summer in Alaska, trying to cut down his acre field with a hand string trimmer. I walked over and chatted with him for a bit and he said he tried to rent a tractor to mow the field but no one in town has one to...

For 11 years I have lived with the back half of my inside yard being weeds and rocks... but now that we are selling the place, no expense is spared! Lures are great for catching the big fish! ;) over the last 2 weeks I removed 6-12 inches of rock packed soil from around the house and screened...

xj2025 first oil and tranny oil chg?? help

It looked like what was coming out of mine was clear also until I pulled the bucket out from under the tractor and seen it in the bottom of a perfectly clean white bucket. Trick to plowing snow with FEL ??

the SSQA plates are slightly less straight from the company. Mount Plates - Skid Steer Attachments I've been wondering about the different ways to do the float for the plows and the affects they have on the tractor. I noticed when using a fixed plow on the front of a loader with it in float...

    XJ2025 Liquid ballast.

If you are already wanting to build a ballast box/tool carrier, I think the size you are thinking would be good. The backhoe sits out further then a ballast box would so the tractor holds the weight different. This summer I'm going to be using a box blade to level out quite a bit of my "inside"...

Skid shoes on a back blade for snow removal.

I don't have paved driveways and I was tired spreading all my gravel all over my yard with my back blade. I got a free set of skid shoes and thought I would hook them up to my back blade but also make it so I can remove it all when not needed. Here is what I did, for anyone who is interested...

    SSQA Snow removal bucket?

I'm thinking about building a lightweight snow removal bucket for my little XJ2025 tractor. The tiny bucket it comes with is great for doing dirt work but snow doesn't weigh much and i would want to get as much as possible with each scoop. I looked at larger buckets at the rental shop or...

    Coolant leak on the XJ2025...

Was out pushing some snow around yesterday and a bit after I noticed a small puddle of coolant on the garage floor... looked all over couldn't see anything but they pack those engines in so tightly, its hard to see. Wasn't the overflow. I'm thinking it came from the lower radiator hose coolant...

    TODAYS SEAT TIME

Good idea , but unfortunately not for me... I cant sit still that long. I like to do stupid things like drive 60 miles into the mountains in zero degree weather to visit with family and check on the mining equipment. The drive was actually quite nice! Seen a bald eagle and 2 wolves...

Iseki rototiller find. Worth fixing? or run it as it is?

I've been searching for a couple years now for a "cheap" rototiller because I'm a poor bastard and I finally found one on CL that I was willing to buy. Any benefit in changing hyd fluid?

why? what is the reasoning behind this suggestion? LS recommends the change of the filter at 50 hours and fluid at 500 hours. Are you saying they got it wrong? or just recommending this to play it safe? If we changed the hydro fluid in my families mining machines every 250 hours, we would be...

    LS XJ2025H initial thoughts

the relief valve is on the right side under the seat, should have a hydro hose coming out. You will need to loosen the nut and then tighten the screw with a hex key wrench, then when happy with the change tighten the nut back. With out putting a gauge on it, I don't recommend turning it up more...

    Xj2025 backhoe dolly

now that you got me thinking about it again... Went out in the garage and took the backhoe off. I think if you take the 4 bolts on the sub-frame out you could fold it up and cart it way but it is still 7 feet long and 4 foot 5 inches wide... to make a dolly to fit this I think it would be a...

    backhoe thumb

I looked into this recently. I think I'm going to hold out and fab up a hydro thumb... I think you are going to have to go with a bolt on model if you don't want to do any kind of modifications. Going to replace hot water tank. Need some advice

sorry OP for all this off topic stuff :) here is a quick go at the drawing. there is also the 5 in slab loops (ran as one) that run at 100 degrees f and a 10 port manifold that feeds 7 individual in floor loops on the first level that run at different temps depending on the outside temp. I...

Going to replace hot water tank. Need some advice

I have a couple pictures from some text. Each heat exchanger is capable of 140k btu, I put in 2 because...

xj2025h lifting stuff with home built SSQA pallet forks

I wanted to keep it light as possible to get all I could of the 1270lbs lift cap. Ill get some weight measurements tonight. My brother dropped this off at my property this week and I don't have a use for it. He tried selling it on CL, but had no takers. He got it for free and was just about to take it to the scrap yard but I told him not to... so apparently its mine to deal with now.

XJ2025h with Backhoe - hydro config
