    Battery Info

I have had extremely good luck with batteries over the years. I have had many cars that I bought new and never had to buy a battery for. Our Ford Fusion broke that streak, however. It has that start/stop feature. Researchers say that that makes the car do an average of 5,000 starts per year...

    Which lawn tractor to buy?

Haven't been to Lowes or Home Depot lately? Murray is still in business and cranking them out.

    New Kubota Corrosion

Good chance it sat, disassembled, on the deck of the ship that brought it in. Or it could just be that Kubota buys their hardware from some less than stellar supplier in Chinal.

Dealers Not Accepting Some Brands on Trade

Hyundai went from one of the lower rated new cars to near the top in a matter of about 3 years when they changed their warranty. When people weren't afraid of getting stuck with a dead car after 4 years, the cars sold very well. There's a lesson there for tractor manufacturers.

Dealers Not Accepting Some Brands on Trade

Maybe they should have called their brand "Jon Meere."

Did you guys take the guard off your trimmer?

And I have never seen a professional lawn care operation with more than one employee take them off. Way too much workman's comp risk.

Do I really need a tractor on 1.5 acres?

When I bought my Branson 2515R, I sold three Farmall Cubs, each of them for less than $1500. All of them with mower decks.

Do I really need a tractor on 1.5 acres?

I have a Cub XT1 46 inch, and the rear is definitely not locked. And we mow about 2 acres with it. It is NOT a tractor, and altlhough it has well over 200 hours on it, it has been a pain to maintain, clearly not designed for heavy use. Two head gasket replacements, one under warranty. We...

This is the classic Economics 101 definition of inflationary pressure.

    Showroom Shock !

I took my Chevy Colorado in last week for a TSB on the transmission that has been endemic to that transmission family. This is a large dealership on the south side of Dallas. They normally have a stock of some 300 cars or so. They didn't have 20. I asked their head salesman if they had...

    Kioti

My Branson dealer had been an LS dealer. He had nothing bad to say about the tractors, except that they ARE computer controlled, and that turned off too many buyers.

    Kioti

It has a "heel and toe" HS arrangement, rather than two side-by-side pedals.

    Kioti

If loader capacity is a concern, you should definitely compare the Branson. I considered John Deere, Kubota, Kioti, LS, Branson, and Mahindra. My spreadsheet said Branson was the deal, but if money had been no concern, I would likely have gotten a JD or Kubota.

    PINE logs anyone?

I'm astonished that no one seems to want them. I sold the timber off my 26 acres in Arkansas, and it was an excellent windfall. Twenty-four inches is close to maximum size at the sawmill where it all went. The bad news is that anything smaller than 8" got cut off and will rot where it is...

Gardening, like hunting, is a way to raise your basic food cost into the lobster and caviar range. But dirty hands ARE fun!

    2515R questions

As far as I can discover, the 2515 does not have the 2-speed PTO gearbox. It just shares the dash gauges with tractors that do.

    L6060 Engine Noise Getting Louder

I'm not a mechanic, and I don't play one on TV, but just because the manual says you can go 400 hours, I'm not sure I would. I would probably change the engine oil every spring. It's not just dirt that causes problems, it's condensation, especially bad in the winter in cold climates. That...

break in change on Branson 3015H- which engine oil & hydraulic filter do I need?

Just in passing, requiring any maintenance item available only from the manufacturer on a warranted product is a violation of the Magnusson-Moss Warranty act, unless the maintenance item is provided to the buyer free of charge.

    Branson Cummins engines

I have dealt with Cummins for 40 years. No big problem there. My last Cummins, a big honking ISX with 565 horsepower, had 600,000 trouble-free miles on it when I sold it. But a funny story. Back in the early 90's, I was assigned a brand new truck with a Caterpillar engine. That was the...
