Rototilling? I learned it's essential to mow first.

Personally I use the Grapple to rip it out by the handfuls, pile it and burn it. Then simply mow whatever mess is left. As long as you keep it cut for a year or two most of it dies off. I think it fatigues the plant. That also keeps me from being scratched to death during the process. The big...

    1505 Diesel Running Hot(er)

Rip, Thanks for the reply. I was having a heating issue myself for a bit. Not over heating, but higher than what I have found to be normal. Pop open the hood, wait a view minutes and it would go right back to normal in a few minutes. As I always try and keep my screens and radiators (water and...

    Battery powered chainsaw

I have a Makita Dual Battery Brushless 16" (XCU04Z). I haven't used the 18 inch 2-Stroke in over 2 1/2 years. For all smallish jobs, like pruning, branch cutting/trimming, trees up to 8 or so inch's. It is my go to. Sure for BIG jobs a big gasser is needed, but I am so impressed with the Makita...

Hydraulic Line Leaks: (Cracked Welds, Not O-Rings) for Bobcat CT-230 (or CT-235)

I know its been a while, and sorry for that. I had the same problem, small crack hidden in the weld. Carefully ground it most of the way down, flooded it with brake cleaner and had a professional welder redo the weld. That was 150hrs ago. $10 and 1 hour work. I will add, that the same style of...

I guess that where the question is. Were there unseen cracks that allowed the bolts to become loose, or did loose bolts cause cracks

I want to buy your tractor... what will you accept

I've used Escrow.com at least 6 times, and it is as smooth as can be. Anything more than a few K, if its not cash, its Escrow. Happy to split the fee. A 20K sale is only 200.00 fee, worth every penny. I use it personally both ways, sell and buy. A couple people were hesitant at first, until I...

Agreed. I could swear it was quite evident in the photo that the crack runs across both bolt holes.

    Kioti tractor issues.

The question really is, how did the bracket crack. Currently you can clearly see why the bolts will come loose, the bolt holes are cracked. So prior to getting the big obvious cracks. when did the little ones that caused the original problem of loosening bolts, occur. Perhaps it had micro-cracks...

    Kioti tractor issues.

Sure, thats 1. How about Kubota still hasn't put a proper fuel filter on the BX (appx 20 yrs and), still using the dual plastic/paper crap? Are all Kubotas POS? I am in full agreement the OP has an issue, though we still don't know how it occurred (and no I am not blaming the OP).
  13. SirMaxwell

    Kioti tractor issues.

Hmm, seems the question here is how did the crack appear? Bolts coming loose after the major crack appeared are obvious, crack runs right over bolt holes. But the origination is in question. Abuse or prior manufacturing defect? Not picking sides, just musing.
  14. SirMaxwell

    Kioti tractor issues.

Agree its ridiculous, but the leap to ALL Kiotis "..cheap POS looking machine.." is quite the slap in the face to a lot of members. I suppose not all of us can afford the great Iseki/Agco/Bolens/White/Challenger machine (most of which btw I like). Guess I'll have to limp along with my POS tractors.

Who watched the TV series THE LAST SHIP a couple years ago?

I watched all 5 seasons. I thought I'd find it a bit lame, given the premise. However, I thoroughly enjoyed it and wish it had a 6th Season, though it was done after 5. Truth is, there is plenty wrong, inconsistent, silly, not believable, etc etc. Put all that aside, watch it for what it is, let...

How long can cylinder rods remain exposed to the elements before they should be coated with something?

Over 50 years ago, in Rural PA, we and all the farmers round me used oil soaked rags on anything that was gonna set awhile. Now and then they would pour a little more oil on the rags. When using the equipment, toss the rags in a barrel, cover, wait till net use. To this day, I remove the rags...
