Oil & Fuel B26 Hydraulic inleakage

I had an issue with totally random (seemingly) stalling. Only when the machine stopped moving, but the loader was fine did I think to address the suction boot that has gotten me before with the same issue. Just ordered the new new new boot kit. Hopefully they actually figured it out properly...

Electric conversion of a Kubota B26 / Similar

Lol.. just found this! I was looking at using a Nissan Leaf motor at about half voltage, and then this guy just started this project

They are not cheap chinese sht.. I have disassembled them and they are very good quality Japanese cells that sell for 4 to 6 bucks each when new. They also have a good quality BMS built in and each unit is sealed and waterproofed.

You forgot quiet. I want a virtually silent machine also. An indoor machine is nice for digging out footings or pipe channels in an existing space. Also I think most duel fuel propane motors need to be gasoline, not diesel.

I don't think it would add much. Regen really only works well with fast moving wheels (lots of rotational energy) with good traction. Too much regen/electric braking will just cause muddy tractor wheels to slide.

An electric forklift was definitely on consideration list already for harvesting parts... a good sized the motor controller, motor and electric hydraulic pump. I think I am gonna pass on the Kubota HST tho and wait for a more suitable non-HST machine. I will update the thread as and when I...

Electric conversion of a Kubota B26 / Similar

Wow... go away for a weekend and just watch the conversation wander around! So 1> The whole point was to get rid of the diesel motor not replace it with another diesel ICE generator that would cost more than just replacing the dead motor. I want a machine that makes minimal noise and it dead...

Oh contraire, everything is on the table right now. :-) Thanks for the input!

Electric conversion of a Kubota B26 / Similar

I love getting input from the folks with much more tractor experience than I. I am thinking the HST based tractors may not be the best choice and just direct drive the wheels with the motor. The accumulator was just a thought. I think if I could just drive the existing hydraulic pumps with a...

Don't worry about the loss of service.. this is definitely a background project for me and I have a great solid working noisy polluting diesel tractor in the meantime! Having seen the comments and the HumVee conversion in progress, I am starting to think a hydrostatic transmission tractor may...

Thanks GD! I did an online hydraulics course which was super helpful. This guy is a college professor and does a good job of putting all his courses online if anyone wants to brush up their skills. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLdnqjKaksr8ruhw85YYSSO6EWLhVVmSKm You are correct, the...

Electric conversion of a Kubota B26 / Similar

Ha.. yeah, been watching this dude for a year or so now and developing the E-vehicles/wheelchairs for his girl. I was holding off on watching the Hummer project til he got further into it, but just got upto date after you posted. I love how much room there is when all the ICE stuff comes out...

Electric conversion of a Kubota B26 / Similar

Yeah... that's kinda what I was thinking, probably a two motor setup. The hydraulic pump(s) for the B26 don't really look like much of anything. I am not sure exactly what it would take to replace it with electric at this point; but open to suggestions! I was thinking also of a hydraulic...

Electric conversion of a Kubota B26 / Similar

There will be a massive push into electric everything in the next decade or so. I am hoping to see conversion kits similar to what are available to convert automotive applications. Depending on how the tractor is used, I think it would be a good fit for a number of applications; especially in...

Electric conversion of a Kubota B26 / Similar

Honestly I have not used the PTO ever. Only ever used the Backhoe and loader. The motor and motor controller would be matched to the load requirements as much as possible. I was really looking for leads on anyone that has actually done this or something similar. I have followed a number of...

I already have a similar diesel tractor. I was looking at this to be able to use tractor in an enclosed space without fumes and also be able to use it quietly in residential areas. I was really looking for someone that had already done this on a similar SCUT. I saw a converted power trac and...

Electric conversion of a Kubota B26 / Similar

Not entirely sure, but it was run with the oil plug out and the engine is seized by all accounts. I have looked at it briefly and not done a deep dive yet. The engine on the pictures is just for illustration of what the electric motor would replace, and posted to show the flywheel and how the...

Electric conversion of a Kubota B26 / Similar

Perhaps a separate electrically powered hydraulic motor for the loader and backhoe and another for the steering mechanism? I am guessing there is a reason that Kubota has two separate hydraulic pumps for the loader portion and the power steering portion. Anyone have any insight on that?

Electric conversion of a Kubota B26 / Similar

I was just offered a great deal on a Kubota B26 with a blown engine. Hydraulics apparently work just fine. I am really interested in converting it to use a bunch of lithium battery packs from eBikes I got at an auction. There are 36V and 48V packs (42V to 54V when fully charged). Decent...

Traction B26 Hydraulics fine, but transmission won't move (much).

On tinkering with it, the hydraulic pump is really close to the housing for the flywheel housing and the hose with the split. Basically there is no room to take off the hose at all without removing the pump. (I think). Can anyone provide any insight on the best way to replace this hose?

Traction B26 Hydraulics fine, but transmission won't move (much).

Hey all: Update .. the WSM has been a great help in identifying parts. So it seems the Hydraulic Pump (immediately to the left of the fuel intake /throttle control/etc) is a two part pump. Part one feeds the Power steering and PTO, and the second part feeds the FEL, BH and HST transmission...

B26 or similar teardown on video

Traction  B26 Hydraulics fine, but transmission won't move (much).

Hey all, I have a 2015 Kubota B26 that just stopped moving (mostly). It will move a bit.. better forwards than backwards. It is extremely weak in both directions (forwards and back), and makes a whining noise. If the reverse stops responding altogether, it can help to push forward then reverse...
