Tiller  Just one more set of tiller questions

    1. Its drought time in Long Island. Can I use the tiller in hard packed drought efected dirt? I mean it is like a rock. 2. Took me an hour to put on a 4 ft tiller on my jd 755. There must be a better way. I have the tiller on a pallett but it rolls out of place and is down when it should be up...

    1949 Farmall Cub Implements

I am getting a cub with a cultivator to cultivate my small corn field. A bit overkill, but quite a neat rig. It does not have a standard hitch. I don't even know what it is called. Does anyone else know? And what could I attach to this thing? Rob

    Tiller  Tiller to clear weeds?

I used to use a brish hog to clear weeds (one season) before tilling. Today I decided to go to straight to the tiller. Took a couple extra passes. Any downside to doing it this way? P.S. Where do you get implement pins online (is that what they are called?) I am losing them all the time. Rob

    Tiller  Tiller Settings

Tried to till an acre today on my (new to me) JD 755 with a 4 ft tiller. First time. Was like trying to wash a bathtub with a toothbrush. It was wildflowers that I cut down with a brushhog? How should the settings for the skis be set? How fast should I be going? I have notices that if I leave...

Thanks to everyone who responded to the 3PH thread. Now that I know everyone has a lousy time attaching implements this imatch concept seems more interesting. What are imatch compatible implements? Do you need to buy imatch adaptors for your current implements or do you have to buy them that...

Broke down and bought a 1993 JD 755 with tiller, brush hog, FEL, PH Digger, rake, and finishing mower at a great price. I am sharing it with a landscaper 50/50 (big mistake). Got my JD-755. Some Attch. Questions

Finally got my JD 755 (at least 50% of it, I share it with a landscaper) and tilled < 2 acres today. The field was corn and after two passes, it was fine. So I was able to not have a disc. Not all of the waste is gone, but most. Tiller Question: When I end a pass at the end of the lot the...

    Planters  Seeders vs. Planters

I have my heart set on a JD Flexiplanter 71 to seed sunflowers and feed corn. I am told that this cannot help seed wildflowers which is more like seeding grass. Someone recommended a billion seeder but they are a fortune. Any alternatives? Would a drop spreader and a power rake work as well...

Had been looking for a 4300, 4310. Found a great deal locally on a '93 JD 755 about 20hp with all the implements. I am concerned that 20hp is not enough power. I need to be tilling two fields. One was cut feed corn, the other cut wild flowers. Total acreage under 2. The JD has hydo, 4wd, and...

    JD versus non JD Implements

Every true farmer I meet tells me to stay away from JD implements. I know we have posted this on the forum before. But I am now going from "It doesn't really matter having JD implements on a JD" to "JD implements are much more expensive and of poorer quality than other makes." Any thoughts?

    Seeders  Seeder advice

I am looking to seed wildflowers, sunflowers, and feed corn. On 2 acres. One dealer has recommended a befco greenrite 58" 100 lb. seeder/aertor. It seems like buying a ferrari to go to the supermarket. Wouldn't a spreader do the job for the wild flowers? What would I use then to pack it into...
