I’m planning to buy a standard flow brush cutter for non-commercial use only with a Case 1840. Does one brand stand out or are they all pretty the same? What features are absolutely necessary? Thanks in advance

I loaned my LB 1914 to a relative and it was in two-wheel drive when it was returned. I put it into fwd and it started making a loud clunking sound and seemingly jumping out of and back into gear very rapidly. Any ideas on where to start looking?
