Quick way to give your PT the experience it has always wanted...

There's a club! I've not been this excited since I realized I could turn my fan blower on high to make my wrangler soft top from flapping... yeah, like I said... I'm not that bright :). I try to be religious about the key -- but let's be honest, it is keys for all sorts of toys and I lose them...

Quick way to give your PT the experience it has always wanted...

    Turn the key, don't start the engine and wait. September 8th, 2021 - 160.1 ... three years later (+99.7 Hours) ... September 8th, 2024 - 259.8 ... seven days later (+156.7 Hours) ... September 15th - 416.5 Noob no more! PS, I'm an idiot. I'm just glad I took pictures. Ugh. Hopefully...

I don't know my own strength - oil drain elbow

To finish this out -- I was going to re-tap it, but wanted to see if at least I had enough threads left to grab -- seems like I have, but now I need a different solution. I may just go with the valve in the future assuming this holds okay.

I don't know my own strength - oil drain elbow

@JJT - Thanks for the 'finger tight... then a half turn...' -- good lesson to learn. I talked to Terry -- - He noted that when removing, make sure there is no torqueing side to side -- hold it and/or use an air ratchet. - To fix, he suggested to use a 3/8 - 18 NPT (tapered pipe) tap -- make...

I don't know my own strength - oil drain elbow

Thanks -- that's what I have and probably what I'm going with. I've seen some of the engines come with these types of plugs -- readily available on amazon -- I think I'll stick to the simple plug. Also seen some extensions with black pipe fittings -- interesting, but probably not enough for what...

I don't know my own strength - oil drain elbow

Went to change the oil and off popped the elbow -- I really don't think I put too much torque on it -- I see where someone posted 'don't put the elbow in too far' (this came like this from the factory), but it doesn't look like it was put in very far at all. What are my options here... anyone...

Where to find PT425 48" Mower Deck Blades

I used them to cut a path through the woods -- they have some pretty deep dings in them and one is bent. It took a little effort, but I got them out okay -- and yes, they were easy to get to and then I discovered the zerks underneath! ;).

Where to find PT425 48" Mower Deck Blades

So there was a reason my dad always told me to use the right tool -- I got off my ass and got out the calipers, turns out it is 3/8" -- eye balling it was not appropriate, my apologies. That being said I still can't find the 'exact' combination -- I've seen other posts using a 'washer' to...

Where to find PT425 48" Mower Deck Blades

Silly question -- but I've looked everywhere, where might I find replacement deck blades? I bent the crap out of them... long story. Measurements I'm getting (assume they are correct) -- 7/16" center hole 16.5" length 2.5" width I can bend them back and sharpen them -- though I'd rather just...

    Tramming Slow to Respond

Hello All - hope everyone is well. So I got through the summer and fall with my new PT and got to do plenty of projects with downed trees and moving dirt... still not really satisfied with the mowing aspects (but shame on me for trying to grow grass in the woods on a sandy plot)... I had some...

    Quick Attach Not Coupling

I talked to Terry a few times and he agreed to send me the assembly - got it yesterday and still have to put it on when I find some time. I'll let you guys know what I figure out. The current one 'works' after some heavy filing, though there are still gaps between the tabs and 'considerable'...

    Quick Attach Not Coupling

Called PT - nothing jumped out from them. I loosened / then tightened the two arms - nothing really seemed to make much difference (wanted to try simple solutions first). Few things I noticed, the bolt that attaches the cylinder to the arm protrudes through the arm on both - and drags on the...

Buying Advice Yet another - what should I get?

Thanks - 2 hours in and I've pulled out some buck thorns with the mini-hoe and moved some brush with the grapple - I will say that my reverse is quite jerky and if I bang the forks on the garage floor or forget that I left the parking break on then something is going to break - but that's the fun.

So I measured and they are both the same - the picture before gave the impression that the right was lower.

    Quick Attach Not Coupling

All - just powered up the machine and noticed that the quick attach was not engaging - seems like it is getting caught up on the hydraulic arm. See Picture - Didn't know I'd have to go wrenching so quickly :). Noticed this prior to putting any attachment on it. Thoughts?

Buying Advice  Yet another - what should I get?

It seems like a rite of passage for potential tractor owners to post here, so here goes. Moved to a 2.5 acre sloped wooded lot about a year ago. I've been through all the seasons to know that I need something more than my assortment of hand tools. I am drawn to the PTs due to their...
