Diesel fuel additives for bulk tanks

Thanks, I think that's what I have used before, but I couldn't remember, and couldn't find my old receipts. I've got a water block, but not a particulate filter on mine. Maybe I should consider adding a second. Mine is gravity feed though. I don't know if it would work as well without a pump.

Diesel fuel additives for bulk tanks

I've asked this before, but can't find the old thread. I've got a 200 gallon tank. What additives are y'all putting in to keep it clean and fresh? Need something for algae, cleanliness and freshness.

Why 3pt Rotaty (brush) Cutter vs Quick attach on FEL?

As said above, flow is going to be an issue. However, the issue of safety is a big concern. I have and M4700 with a 6' pull behind mower, that has on occasion, at least before I put chains on it, thrown debris past my head. I also run a Kubota SVL 75 with a rotary muncher (think bush hog on...

    Favorite diesel can?

I have a 200 gallon tank. Our property is an easy 1 hour round trip to the closest gas station. I had, and still have, three 5 gallon plain old yellow plastic diesel cans. I did buy some of the cheap spouts to put on them to avoid the valve assemblies that are now California compliant...

question on going from conventional oil to synthetic on smaller engines

Synthetic is the way to go. I run Rotella T6 in my F250 and the tractor. In all my small engines I run straight 40W. Of course this is Texas and it gets hot in the summer, and not much use in the winter.

    Insurance for tractor and attachments

You need an Inland Marine Policy. It's not really a "boat" policy as stated above, but that's just what it is called. We have ours through Farm Bureau. Found them to be the cheapest and best by far.

    landscape border/trim recommendation

I know you have a need for this, and it's probably justified. We have similar spots at our home in various places that were there when we bought the home about fourteen years ago. So I have no real idea when they were installed. Bricks were used as edging on some of it, and pavers on others...

    RM43 weed control mix % ?

I didn't figure out the mixtures. The table will tell you that. But really are you using the right stuff for your application? Are you just spraying fence rows or are you spraying pastures. If you are only trying to kill thistle and mustard, they are both broadleaves. Why do you need the...

BX23S wasp nest in roll bar / sprayed wasp killer / how to clean out?

Spray some carb cleaner or brake cleaner in there and don't worry about it.

    Skidsteer rentals

I've got a skid steer, and it doesn't like slopes. Your entry and exits need to be specifically planned, and they need to be thought out as to how they are going to change if and when you have a load on the front.

Diesel Additive - which one, and how much?

I just want to keep the fuel fresh. This is a 200 gallon tank that sits at our ranch to fuel farm equipment. It holds off-road diesel, and will not be used for on the road vehicles. I don't want algae, water, gelling, or fuel degradation. That is all.

Diesel Additive - which one, and how much?

Thank you all for your responses. I think that i have decided to go with Dee-Zoll for an additive and Killem Biocide for the algae. It may be overkill, but at the price of fuel, not to mention my equipment, now days it's cheap insurance.

Diesel Additive - which one, and how much?

Guy I bought it from said it was a 2001. Really don't know. It's the only tractor that I've ever owned. Bought it shortly after we bought the property five years ago.

Diesel Additive - which one, and how much?

Thank you all for your replies. I appreciate your thoughts and time. To answer some questions, the tractor is a Kubota M4700, a 2001 model. Pretty low hours. I think I've got about 950 hours on it. Runs like a top. Also have a back hoe and a skid steer. Fuel turnover is going to be fairly...

Diesel Additive - which one, and how much?

OK. I'm new to this. I recently purchased some additional equipment, and I got tire of having to run into town to fill up five gallon cans every day. Our ranch is in rural Texas and a round trip to town take a minimum of an hour. Short is I bought a 200 gallon tank, got my permit for farm...

    Tilling uncut grass

Another problem that you will have if you just till under that much silage is that it will rob all the nitrogen from the soil as it decays. Whatever you plant in that, until the soil has digested the silage, is going to suffer.

    Brush cutter mulcher

No offense, but this does not sound like a good idea from a safety standpoint. As mentioned above somewhere, you really need a cab or screen. I have a MTL for my skid steer, and it will cut some amazing stuff. However, I replaced the stock glass with a Shield's Windshield 1/2" poly, and I'm...

    Fuel stabalizer

I use marine Stamp-bil in gasoline without issue. For diesel I use Diesel Kleen. For mixed gas I use a product that I buy at Lowe's that is a synthetic oil with a fuel stabilizer added. Since I started doing this I have had no problems other that those that are simply related to the age and...

    New Tractor Insurance

No. I"m just farm and ranch. My guess is that you are going to have to have a different policy for commericial. You need to contact your insurance provider and see what your options are.

    New Tractor Insurance

You really need to look at an Inland Marine Policy. I have mine through Farm Bureau. It's relatively cheap for the year, and I have all my equipment and attachments on it. It's less than $1000 a year about $70,000 worth of property on the list. Homeowners will not cover damage you inflict...

How to catch 11 gallons of oil?

I went to TSC and bought one of those rubber / silicone 16 gallon totes, in a wonderful turquoise color I might add. I set it under the hydraulic drain and let it fill up. I then fill my tractor and pour the oil from the tote back into the buckets that I used to fill the tractor. I think the...

    Hydraulic il Dissolver

Get carb cleaner and a roll of paper towels. Spray and blot. You will get a lot of it up. You can then try Dawn or a pressure washer or all of the above. Last ditch effort might be a little muriatic acid, but be careful with that stuff. Like posted above. I wouldn't count on it looking...
