    Scag tiger cub running rough

Have you checked that both coils are working?? Pull one plug at a time, if pulling one kills the engine, the OTHER one is not working. Just went through this with a Kawasaki feeling it surely was fuel related, not so!!

General lawn mowing with 54” deck

My wife has asked me/ told me she would like to cut the grass. My response was that I have neither the time or the money to fix everything she can break. She knows it's true though.

Harbor Freight Predator 8750 Watt Open-Frame Inverter Generator Troubleshooting ideas

This post started as "open frame inverter" so the generator part is very different from an older conventional unit, basically just an engine with a built in a/c coil under the flywheel and a whole bunch of electronic components.

Oil & Fuel TC40DA: Oil change nightmare.

Government regulations aside, that was a cheap ass bungled solution on new Hollands part. Adding oil to an engine should NEVER cause catastrophic damage unless you forgot to refill after an oil change!

    Suggestions for tree removal

You probably have 2-3 years of dying and drying of that tree as is, getting lighter as time passes. I would watch and wait a while before tackling it.

    Well that's clear as mud!!

    Uncle's JD 4230

I would think with fully aired up tires and a freed up gear box, the beefiness of that front end axle and triple pivot points should be more than sufficient. I might be concerned about the front "raring up" with the winch mounted that high on the trailer when the back wheels hit the base of the...

    Uncle's JD 4230

I would winch it on the trailer, take it home and methodically go over everything from the convenience of my house assuming home is closer to the parts house for supplies. Getting in a hurry because of driving distance issues could get way more expensive or turn a very fixable tractor into a...

    Engine loses power

Make sure the points and condenser screws are really tight. Back in the 70's I had a chevy belaire that I would tune up myself. AC Delco came out with the "uniset" which combined points and condenser on one metal plate. After i particular tune up when I couldn't locate a uniset, I swapped back...

Mold and grass buildup on mower deck underside

Here in Louisiana we also have the added fun of crawfish chimneys which are about 3-4 inches in diameter with a 1 inch hole in the center and 3 to 8 inches tall, so in addition to waiting for wet grass to dry, sometimes you would have to wait for the chimneys to dry. Adds a lot of mud to the...

Rotary Cutter Is a stump jumper needed for a 4-foot brush hog?

I would want the final rear tires width to equal the cutter width if at all possible as well.

Rotary Cutter Is a stump jumper needed for a 4-foot brush hog?

Yep !! And my stump jumper(howse 4 ft) is dinner plate shaped but still uses a TEE shaped shaft that the blades attach to. The stump jumper plate is thin and would never support blades by itself. I always assumed they were always built this way.

    Bush Hog violently shaking

This is the answer to your question and problem. By some fortune you have been spared up until now from having the folded blade at start up.

    Intro into Brazing

I think true MAPP gas is no longer available. There is a newer product available in the yellow cylinder but it is only about 100 degrees hotter than propane and will probably disappoint you.

So very disappointing when posters don't come back and finish a thread.....

    Repairing Drilled Engine Block

Yep, it's all fun and games till the **** starts rolling downhill. There are a lot of "delete" manufacturers that never thought they would be held to account, but hey, you do you !

    Repairing Drilled Engine Block

If that serial number on the block is ever required for parts or service, there could be some grief for the "last one" holding the bag. Between that and an expensive repair process, I would be VERY WARY of going through with your plan. If EPA required them to do this, they (kubota) will be loath...

    Tractors and (upcoming) tariffs?

Tariffs are usually, in comparison, very short lived so trying to bring production back to the U.S. is pretty dicey as the cost to re-build, re-tool would be super expensive when that market could be pulled out from under you at anytime when then the politics are resolved. I just don't ever see...

Pulling stuck vehicles out of the ditch with a tractor

Plus if you call a tow truck yourself, it is almost always cheaper and more reasonable than the police/Gov. official making the call from a rotating list of vendors. They will bleed you!

12 year old oil, any good?

The oil is fine pretty much no matter the age, it is the voodoo additive packages which are trade secrets that you can't be sure of their stability.

Ouch, anyone able to explain the cost difference?

For important equipment, I prefer to match bearings at a brick and mortar bearing store. They have skin in the game and don't want to sell a cheap knock off and ruin a reputation. Amazon don't care, you were looking for the cheapest option and they supplied it, the out come is on you.

    Wheel spacers

Spacers are great but the dealer is correct in being reluctant to install them. They put significant loads on parts that may not be spec'd to handle them, and when it fails, who is left holding the bag?

Your deposit plan WILL get you on the gov. radar. Repetitive suspicious transactions will trigger a report, count on it.

Where do you get rid of used hydraulic fluid?

When I go to O'reillys, I just ask if it is ok to dump, and they point to the back, and I dump it myself. Oil is oil is it not?

    Culvert Install

I have also seen bags of sacrete used and stacked then wetted and allowed to harden to us as head walls. Looks good when done right and seems to be very effective after the paper bag rots away.

Should a new tractor come with a full tank of gas?

Yeh, but in 1977 that would've been nearly 12 gallons of gas !!

    Nuts?

Well, at least you didn't "find It" with the lawn mower blades !!!!

Ferris IS2100z no power to left wheel

I lost those little blades once. Ran over a curved piece of bamboo while cutting along a hedge. Had a bad feeling as I watched it go under the deck then heard a quick "zip" sound, less than a second long, sure enough, blades gone. Never would have heard it unless I'd seen it happen in real time !
