Flail Mower Let's talk flail mowers

Currently I am being offered full new bearing assemblies, a new axle weldment and a new set of hammers. I appreciate the fast response. but... the idea of needing to rebuild the whole thing that I have nothing but trouble with isn't super exciting. I am contemplating my next steps.

Here is the lubrication schedule. They make it pretty clear.

Flail Mower Let's talk flail mowers

Well, ugh. I bought my flail mower new last fall. Had some initial belt breaking issues, and problems with untorqued bolts. Got it figured out this spring, but things got way out balance this afternoon. Mower only has about 30 hours on it, and I think it is pretty much toast. Manual emphasized...

    WoodMaxx Flail - Early Issues

Hi All. I see there has been some activity here, so here is my updated. I am pleased with the response from WoodMaxx and we are continuing our correspondence to figure out a few details on how to best resolve this. I won't to make it super clear here that it was never my intent to defame...

    WoodMaxx Flail - Early Issues

First, condolences on on the Tide's loss last night. It was a fun game to watch though. With hands on the equipment, it is easy to tell that WoodMaxx is good stuff, regardless of county of origin. Like you, I am curious on their follow through on this though, because customer service does still...

    WoodMaxx Flail - Early Issues

Still silence from WoodMaxx on this. No response to a follow up note sent last week. Doing my best to take the advice of a few comments on here and be patient, but it's still a little worrisome.

    WoodMaxx Blower

I started out this winter with a new WoodMaxx blower (SB72) on my Kioti DK. I had previously run a Kioti branded blower (Woods?) on a Kioti CK. I log a lot of snowplowing time each winter, sometimes up to 125 hours per season. It's lot of time spent with no cab and driving backwards, so the...

    WoodMaxx Flail - Early Issues

Honestly, it seems like a good machine that never had it’s bolts torqued at the factory. The machine neve clogged on me, and it seemed to be built to do the job. I’d be happy to accept a replacement. I got a WoodMaxx snowblower too and it’s been great so far even though we’ve had minimal snow...

    WoodMaxx Flail - Early Issues

I'm not going to apologize for having a bit of angst over a $3k piece of equipment being useless after 3 hours of use. I bought it because I needed it. I paid for new because I wanted some peace of mind. I understand the Holidays and time off. They've been responsive (so they are there and...

    WoodMaxx Flail - Early Issues

Still no word from WoodMaxx. I emailed 2-days ago to ask if they got my email with photos and video and he said Yes and to “bear with him.” Silence since then. The useless attachment is just taking up space in my barn.

    WoodMaxx Flail - Early Issues

Still no word back from WoodMaxx. I took the mower off the tractor, and disconnected the PTO. This led to me finding that the gear box was almost completely loose from the mower. There are 4 bolts (M12) that come up from inside the mower compartment and hold the gear box down, two were missing...

    WoodMaxx Flail - Early Issues

I talked to WoodMaxx this morning and they asked for photos to show the problem. I’ve sent, so we will see what the response is. In noticing that the drive shaft itself has play to it, I also noticed that when rotating the shaft/pulley the PTO side of the gearbox only rotates intermittently...

    WoodMaxx Flail - Early Issues

So the plot thickens a bit. On closer examination this morning, it isn't the drive pulley that its moving on the shaft, it's the shaft itself that has play to it. It moves in/out about 3/16" when I pull/push on the pulley. Even when I pull it out to its max, it does not come into alignment with...

    WoodMaxx Flail - Early Issues

Do I need to remove the pulley from the hub, or just retighten the hub into the proper location on the shaft? Reading a bit more about how these tapered hubs worked, I'm surprised it has play in it (about 1/4 worth) and isn't just completely loose on the shaft instead. It would seem as though...

    WoodMaxx Flail - Early Issues

Based on the fact that the drive pull was in so far it was carving a grove in the arm that holds the tension roller, I think its safe to say that the upper pulley needs to move out. I think it's held in place by a compression hub. Not exactly sure how they work. See photo. You can also see in...

    WoodMaxx Flail - Early Issues

The tapered gap in the photo was caused by me leaning the level in to meet the drive pulley. Attached us an updated photo with the level flush on the lower pulley. Both pulleys free rotate fine, so the shaft doesn't appear to be bent. I did just now notice in/out play on the drive pulley...

    WoodMaxx Flail - Early Issues

After buying a new property in Northern Maine we bought a WoodMaxx flail mower mode, FM-78H with hammers. It's job is to mow back the fields which haven't been touched in 4+ years. The field was almost all heavy weeds, grasses and brambles, no wood of any diameter worth mentioning other than...

    DK5310se HST Won't Start **Emergency**

VICTORY! 100% Fixed. So today I jumper the solenoid correctly and got the fly wheel to crank. No luck. I even managed to turn the key at the same time, no luck. My dealer was convinced it was the safety control module (located on fire wall behind dash) and they happened to have one on the...

    DK5310se HST Won't Start **Emergency**

Thank you all! This gives me some good things to try. I will get back after it tomorrow. I am also going to grab a new "Starter Relay" which is what I assume the one bolted to the firewall is, in addition to the relay labeled "starter" in the fuse box. Dirttoys, Yes, that looks like my...

    DK5310se HST Won't Start **Emergency**

Lots of good suggestions here that are getting a little beyond my skill level. I do have a meter, but am not great with it. I have an electrician friend I will try enlist the help of tomorrow. The starter solonoid has only two posts on, one is obviously the + side, since it hard a red...

    DK5310se HST Won't Start **Emergency**

Why wouldn't this be happening when I turn the key? This is only happening when I jump to solenoid.

    DK5310se HST Won't Start **Emergency**

Thanks for the quick reply. I have tried jumping from both a battery pack and another vehicle. The click is not at the starter, I think it's just at a full shutoff or something. Even if both the start relay and fuse are out I get the same click. I've also tried replacing both the start fuse...

    DK5310se HST Won't Start **Emergency**

Kioti DK5310se HST won't start. Tractor is hooked to livestock trailer in remote field, and I need to move the animals home tonight. Turn the key, hear a click, but nothing else. Battery is good. PTO off, seat switch ok, in neutral. If I jump two big post on solenoid, the starter spins but...

    3-Point Hitch 3-Point Width Adjustment?

Not a great picture, but its something. CAT 1 to Cat 1, don't notice it binding anywhere. MIGHT be able to put tension between the two arms and not interfere with the PTO, but that makes me a little nervous. I'm considering bolts, but that seems like a PIA, and I still feel like I'm missing...

    3-Point Hitch 3-Point Width Adjustment?

Pictures are not of my tractor but show the blower and 3-pt hitch. To me, it seems the ears are poorly designed and weak, but Woods sells a lot of blowers so I can't imagine I'm the only one who has seen this. Chain and turnbuckles between the arms would interfere with PTO.

    3-Point Hitch  3-Point Width Adjustment?

I run a Kioti 2610 with a 54" rear mount blower (Kioti, but made by Woods). The ears where the 3-point arms attach to the blower have begun to flare outward as if the arms are forcing themselves too wide against them. I am aware of the turnbuckles that control the swing of the attachment. These...

If you had it to do over again...

I've been having some trouble with my Kioti and Kioti Dealer, and been thinking back to when I bought my tractor. If I had it to do over again, I probably would have gone with a Kubota, not because of the quality of my Kioti, but because my local Kioti dealer has an awful service department...

    Kioti Parts Delays

I brought my CK2610 (1-year old, 160 hours) to the dealer for routine service and to check on a suspected leak in the front axel. The work was scheduled and I was expecting a day or two turnaround. The leak was confirmed, and new seals are needed. Hopefully, it's covered by a warranty. It's...
