Hi Guys, my Gehl 2580 Round Baler ( Older baler) started breaking shear bolts today, the bolt is the shear for the pickup head. First time it sheared because I clogged the intake on the right side, ie I over fed a large clump of hay and the right side auger jammed -- My fault, but it wasn't...

lowe's wrong chain saw in box

You definitely need to go back again to Lowes with your Saw and try again. Be calm, be polite and demand to see the manager if need be. Do not leave until you get your money back or the correct saw. You're not the criminal, so you need to stand your ground and get what you deserve. You...

Well today I learned 5 things about post hole augers

Never used a post hole digger yet. I rented a post pounder, me and my helper could drive about 100 posts a day. Fast and easy to do. Cost me about $160 CAD a day to rent it. Im fortunate that I have very few rocks here, mostly clay. I think I hit 2 rocks out of about 300 posts pounded.

Advice on what to do with my Oats Cover Crop

Im just gonna hog it "long" its basically dried out so its just straw (not hay). We dont feed straw, its good for bedding to some I guess. Some of my fields are currently so soft I'd make a mess going in there with too much equipment. July was record setting wet here so Im gonna wait a...

Advice on what to do with my Oats Cover Crop

As I previously stated I think if oats are allowed to go to seed especially down here where I live one should have a ""very good crop of volunteer oats"" next year. I don't know if it would be thick enough to choke out his hay crop he planted. The oats dont re-grow here if they're left to go...
