    very hot -battery cable

If it worked fine up until needing to replace alternator I would start there. Maybe a refurbished alternator and not redone correctly. If cables have not been replaced in tractors life time I would redo those. Have seen on several older trucks that the resistance of old cables can tax the rest...

What causes a circle of dead lawn grass?

Old pool, previous tree, excess fertilizer leak, weed and feed leaking (father-in-law did this with an old sprayer and it dripped even when off), mower footprint.

    Zero turn mower advice

I would look at dealers in your area and at semi commercial units as the decks are heavier metal and welded vs stamped. The hydraulic motors for drive also tend to be heavier duty. A lot of the dealers also can get you same as cash financing for 3 years. We ended up getting a husqvarna unit last...

Smaller rear tires to lower tractor ROPS so I can fit into my trailer when hauling

Could you take it to a welding shop and have them cut and install the metal tabs to make it a foldable ROPS? Pond look hardened, but rest of it just looks like 1/4” plates welded and drilled.

    Would You Loan It Out?

The only people I loan equipment to are my parents. Anyone else you are getting me and my tractor too. Even then it’s a select few friends and not the only when I need it ones. I won’t even let the talk to you once a year “friend” hunt. Once you get it back in your possession and are driving...

    Fence Lines

I would get a hold of county township regulations. If it’s his cows on his property I would assume he should be paying for fence. I would get the line surveyed so you both know where fence should be. May consider tossing him the cash to run a few more strands on your side or go higher to help...

trailer without brakes - max weight

If you are pulling with a half ton or bigger truck I would not be worried about brakes. If you are building it and not much more add the brakes. I personally would rather have the brakes than not. May never happen, but if you have to brake hard the trailer may over run the truck and jack knife...

    Is it used

When I fought mine it had 10 hours on it. It was the one they used to start so people could look at. They also drove it around looking for any issues then retorqued the bolts/nuts. On warranty they have it written at 510 or 1010 hours. Can’t remember exactly but know they accounted for the 10...
