Good info. It seems rare to get feedback from someone who has actually owned the versa loader. A low mounted pump interfering with terrain is a shortcoming I hadn't considered!

Generally speaking, you shouldn't be "carrying" weight high with the loader on any machine. Scoop, raise to a minimum transport height. Drive, then raise to dump height.

Have you looked at the versa loader option for the ventrac? It seems like that might bridge the gap for loader work that a SCUT could reasonably be expected to do. if I recall correctly, it's about 500lbs of lift capacity to 6 ft. No direct experience myself, but it is something I'm looking...

How expensive of a repair is this? I need to keep this in mind during my search for a machine.

Looking at newer machines, can anyone help me understand if there are any major differences between the Steiner 450 platform and the Ventrac 4500 line? Basically, is there anything that one can do that the other can't with the same attachment? Do the current Steiner's accept all the Ventrac...

Second the motion to separate the attachments. It is pretty unlikely that you will find a buyer who has a pressing need for all the attachments that you have all at once. I'd set a price for the tractor and each of the attachments - let the tractor buyer have first pick, then sell the rest.
