I also run a flail mower on mine I feel it cuts better than my rotary cutter and chews up small saplings and brush better. If you do get a flail I would suggest get the hammers.
I have a Branson 3515h and I really enjoy it, but sometimes I wish I had gotten either the 42 or 48 in the 15 series. If you can get a good deal on a 4215 I think it would be a great choice as you could run 6 ft implements on the back.
I have a Branson, now TYM 3515h and I love it. Great lift capacity and very nimble in the woods. I have 25 acres with over 20 woods. You can get the same frame size up to a 48hp engine. The TYM 15 series is a lot of tractor for the price. It’s very stout and very capable.
I really like the quick connects on the auxiliary. I got an auger with mine and would like to set it up for quick connect couplers. Thanks for the info on the size.
Tym is really breaking into the American market. They have a plant in Georgia where they assemble a lot of tractors. I think they see an opportunity to undercut big green and orange and grow market share.
My old push mower is dead. I just thought a battery powered one might be the way to go. But everyone I look at has mixed reviews. Just trying to find something reliable. Just think it would be less hassle for a small area.
I am looking at buying a battery powered push mower for a small section of my yard that too big to just use a weed eater and really tight and awkward for my zero turn. Just wondering what brands people have had good or bad experiences with.
Thank you for your review so far. Mine is sitting back home waiting for me to get back from vacation. I can’t wait. Are you going to change the oil I have heard they ship them with a break in oil and should be changed after a few hours of use.
Are you saying it has a 2nd speed? Didn’t quite understand about the tracking controls and speeding it up? It looks awesome. Can’t wait to get mine. How does it run?
You may be hitting the ground too much. The best way I have found to adjust my flail is use the top link to raise the front of the flail and adjust the cutting height. I used to always have the skids in the dirt also. Just extend the top link so that the roller is firmly on the ground and the...
I’m a big guy and I’m looking for comfortable pants for work and working around the property. I have some roundhouse bibs but would like something with a waistband also. Maybe a stretch or elastic waistband cargo of some sort. Any suggestions?
I really like it. I’m getting about 13 mpg. I really haven’t driven it much yet and really check it. It’s a custom but has enough comfort features for me. It has the gooseneck ready in the bed with the spray in bed liner. Z71. Rides great got it for less than 60k.
I just bought a new 2500hd custom with the 6.6 gas engine and the 10 speed transmission. I think for my purposes it’s perfect. I can haul my tractor or anything else I have with it. For the 10k more price tag and dealing with def I think it just fine.
Maybe you could sell the MMM and put it toward a storage shed to clear up shop space. A tractor may not be used as much but when you need it you have it there to use. Better to have it and not use it as much , than to need it and not have it.
I use delvec in my tractor. Like yours it calls for 424. If you read the delvec label it states it’s the same as Mobil 424. It’s works well in mine. No whine and strong loader functions.
I have a Branson (now TYM) 3515h. I find it gets around the woods really well. The 15 series TYM for me is plenty strong yet nimble. Plus the engine is easy to delete the dpf if you choose to do so. It’s more of a mechanical engine with almost no electronics.
Now that it looks like an EA wicked grapple doesn’t seem to be an option, what direction would someone go to for a new grapple for a compact tractor that’s strong and around 400 lbs or less? Homestead, MTL, or another option?
Thanks for all the replies. I bought a cheap grapple when I got my tractor and I have bent it up pretty good. Can still use it but I don’t have a huge tractor a Branson 3515 h but I think my grapple is more suited for a sub compact. I like the clamshell style. I was thinking of a replacement...
I am looking for a new grapple. The one I first got for my Branson 3515h did not hold up. It is bent up from the soft steel used in it.
I was looking at EAs wicked 55 but since that company is in limbo right now I have been looking at alternatives. EA uses ar400 I believe but I found a nice...
Does anyone have experience with K&R equipment mini excavators? I have been very interested in their products. Seems like you can get a decent supported mini ex for not much more than a backhoe tractor attachment.
You might want to check out k&r equipment. They seem to have a good selection. I have been looking at them pretty hard. Check out the YouTube vids they have.
I bought a Branson 3515h last year now it’s the tym 3515h. I live in the same area as you , with 25 acres. I got mine at BigTex Tractors in caddo mills and had it delivered. I think a 2515h would fit in your budget. It one of the biggest framed 25 hp tractor out there and about 2/3 the price of...
I had a field that was really rough due to wild hog damage. When I finally got my tractor one of the first things I did was use a tiller to level them out. Worked really well. It’s about 5 acres. I have a 35 hp tractor with a 5 foot roto tiller. Now when I get ruts I just use the box blade...
I am in north east Texas on 25 acres of mostly wooded property. I have a Branson 3515h that I love. I have a rotary cutter which is ok in the heavy brush and saplings but I’m thinking a flail mower would be more suited for making and maintaining trails and keeping the blackberry and small trees...
I was using my grapple and pulled the fitting out of one of the cylinders. Got a new fitting but the threads on the cylinder are stripped. What would be the best fix and how much should that cost on average?
Could it be that branson will eventually be bad boy? It would be logical for dealers to have a brand that sells tractors and zero turns branded the same. Just like kubota.
There are a lot of great branson dealers. I went to Big Tex tractors. I know Waco tractors really helped me on this forum and I appreciated their input on here.
I know everybody says go bigger but I still get the 35 hp in a more compact size than the 20 series. If I was cutting hay or doing actual farming this bigger tractors would be awesome. For my applications the smaller should be more nimble for cutting trails in the woods and cutting my way to...
Ok just a update on my thread. I ended up finally on a branson 3515h. I went to Big Tex tractors in caddo mills texas and I would recommend to anyone interested in a branson to check them out if you can. They are about 1hour 45 min from my house in East Texas.
I went to the dealership to...
Really good post. Hydraulic pump specs are definitely something to consider. A lot of people say that they don't care about the extras on a premium tractor. I'm starting to search smarter. Weight instead of just horsepower, horsepower to pto ratio and now hydraulic flow not just lift...
You are right. I just wanted to hear if there were a ton of horror stories with one particular brand. Now phase two go test drive.
I really appreciated everyone's opinion on here. Some really great info.
I made my tractor hunting much more clear on what I should be looking at.
Things always change. At one time kubota was where kioti and branson even the new masseys are now.
If you didn't have a deere or case or any other American made tractor you were looked down on.
Heck if you didn't drive an American made car you were sneered at.
I can still remember made...
Thank you Waco branson. That will help me a lot in my decision. I used to work on farms and tractors all through high school. But I'm so far away from that time in my life I'm basically a unlearned tractor buyer. I appreciate the info.
I do have a zero turn but 2 things hinder it. In the spring we get a lot of rain which by the time the field dries out the grass is above 2 feet. Second is hog damage. My field will almost buck you off the zero turn in some places. So I need the tractor to combat those two factors. I have a...
Well I do need trails knot so much for the 4 wheeler but to remove logs for firewood. I also had the plantation pine thinned a few years ago and there is a lot of cleanup to do. I have no brand loyalty but I'm trying to get the best tractor to fit my situation. No doubt kubota is a great quality...
That is not much difference. I do like the lift capacity of the mx better. I have been researching but so many choices can be underwhelming. It a great time as far as choices go to be shopping for a tractor.
Your situation sounds a lot like mine. I want to be prudent money wise but I dont want to make a major purchase and not have enough tractor and implements to do what I need. I need a Swiss army knife tractor and implements but I don't want to overspend for my needs. It's a hard decision to...
Thank you for all your post so far. I like the MX 5400. That's a great choice. The two things is size and price of the mx. How much more price is it over a l4701? Is the mx gonna be nimble enough in the woods for cutting trails and logging and with all the implements I need with it will it be...
No I haven't visited any dealers yet.
I do not want a cab due to a lot of work in the woods.
I'm considering a hydro bit I think I could make due with a shuttle shift.
I am leaning toward ag tires.
I have 25 acres in East Texas. I am looking for a new tractor. I have about 5 acres to mow. Sometimes in the spring it rains a lot and by the time the field dries the grass gets 2-3 feet tall. My zero turn mower is getting beat up pretty bad.
I have mostly woods but I tried to put trails in...
