    Briggs exhaust port thread ID

Thanks all for the input on this. My original thinking was keeping the original setup so the muffler ends up in the same place and I can keep all the original heat shielding and brackets. The muffler has bolts in the back of it for mounting to an existing bracket. I would need to keep the same...

    Briggs exhaust port thread ID

I've read many threads on this trying to figure out what exactly these threads are. I can confirm mrmikey, the threads of at least the stock nipple on the briggs opposed twin engine I have are in fact 3/4" NPT. I removed the original threaded fittings today and they are definitely tapered...

    Briggs exhaust port thread ID

Here is the original exhaust setup. A thread-in nipple with a slip on exhaust. I'm going to remove it and check the threads.

    Briggs exhaust port thread ID

Right, that is a last resort option that is not original to the tractor. I'll have to take a pic of the exhaust setup and post it later today. The exhaust setup appears to be original and is threaded directly into the ports on the original engine then straight into muffler mounted high and to...

    Briggs exhaust port thread ID

I'm hoping I can get some help identifying the size of these threads on this engine. I picked up a replacement engine for my garden tractor and all is good except for the threads in the exhaust ports. This is a Briggs opposed twin flathead, model 422447. The previous owner tried to thread 3/4"...

Will narrower tires than stock flatten out?

Got it. I'll skip the liquid fill and see how it goes. Tires show up in the next couple days.

    Set my FEL expectations

I will be the first to admit that I'm sure it's mostly operator error. I will say that the pile was very loose, I had just made the piles with a mini excavator and was moving the dirt from point A to B. I was under the naïve impression that since the dirt was loose that I could just drive the...

    Set my FEL expectations

Noob to tractors here. I would like something to move materials around the house as well as a 3acre lot I have. I only have access to the 3 acres with something 4ft wide max. Previously, I've used my uncles bobcat 632 that weighs 4k to move loose dirt around. I was very underwhelmed by its...

Will narrower tires than stock flatten out?

Great, thanks for the tip on setting the air pressure! While I'm at it, is there any advantage to filling the tires if I don't have an FEL? I don't want to be slipping around at all. If there aren't any downsides I may go for it.

Will narrower tires than stock flatten out?

Thanks for the replies, I ordered some 25x10-12 kenda k299 tires 6 ply "rated". I'm hoping for a flatter contact patch but I'm not too picky as long as they have traction.

Will narrower tires than stock flatten out?

I've got a Bolens h16xt, a small 16hp 2wd garden tractor. It's time for new tires. I use this packing materials around the property. Atv tires have a much wider range of tread options but not in the stock size of 23x10.50-12. A popular size used around here seems to be 25x10x12. Looks like...

Importing and modifying a new mini excavator from China

I am near Salem, OR. Adding retractable tracks was another $650 on the quote I received and $780 on another. Has the subject of group purchasing been discussed? I would assume that a small discount would be given and better shipping rates if an FCL was hard packed with excavators vs having them...

Importing and modifying a new mini excavator from China

I joined to follow this thread and see how the import of these mini excavators is panning out. I'm in the market for one and getting quotes through alibaba and directly. I just got a quote for a 2ton unit with swing boom, pilot controls, a 3cyl diesel kubota engine, and about $1000 in...
