    Rear Differential Housing

No I haven't, If/when it fails completely, I will have to though. Probably then, the axle will be bent up and I will have to replace it then. It is in really light duty service so I am disappointed when I see things like this.

    Rear Differential Housing

My leak appears to be the joint and not a crack. Not leaking bad enough to justify disassembly and resealing. Pictures are tough to tell where the leak is but about where the paint puddled on the vertical joint.

    RK55 HST Transmission Oil

So the GL-4 is 90 weight gear oil, it is for the front differential. I pulled down your manual and on Page 5-11 it gives ▶ Recommended Transmission oil 1. RPM tractor Hydraulic Fluid or Textron TDH Premium (CALTEX) 2. TDH Oil or TDH Oil special (TEXACO) 3. Chevron 1000THF (CHEVRON) Other...

    RK55 HST Transmission Oil

My RK24 manual calls for the same as you say above. But this is what the mechanic at RK said they use and so I bought for my RK24. Providence is an RK brand but they said use anything labeld as TRANS-HYDRAULIC OIL. There is nowhere on the label that I could find that gave an ISO viscosity...

    Rear Differential Housing

Wow! What timing! I've just spotted a puddle of oil under my RK24 right differential. I have not tracked it down yet but first thought was cracked casing. Have you actually seen a crack? My 50 year old Satoh got dirt in the oil seals and I had to replace them. At 20 years old, could you have...

    RK24 Hydraulic failure

I should have followed through with an update but failed. I replaced the o-ring with a larger one then when it failed, went back to the original size. I then started limiting my rpm to limit pressure. I did pull the device apart and what I suspect is the overpressure relief device had scoring...

BBodine90, I replied to your message.

Where do you buy tires? What brands to avoid.

I don't check in often and didn't read this entire thread. If somebody recommended Gensco Tires out of Houston, I will second them. I paid about $1500 and a couple hundred to mount the whole set. The front are recapped aircraft tires and the backs are new but about 28 ply, iirc. They ship out of...

    RK24 Hydraulic failure

As a stop gap until I get a hydraulic test gauge, I'm going to limit my engine speed to 2500 rpm. My assumption is that the hydraulic pump is shaft driven and the faster it turns, the more flow since it is a positive displacement and thus more return flow or more pressure. Is this a good...

    RK24 Hydraulic failure

When I get the block off again, I will try and get a picture. The one of the bottom of the block is before I removed the plug and you can see the original o-ring protruding from beneath the plug. Thanks for the help.

    RK24 Hydraulic failure

I have an o-ring kit. The o-ring I used had the same id but had a 3mm cross section instead of a 2mm. I did not have the size that was in there. I had not thought about a pilot line for the relief on that hole. I had guessed it was an orifice to limit flow if you did blow out. I did not get a...

    RK24 Hydraulic failure

Also, looking at the dead grass, the leak started a lot sooner than I realized it. So the blowout was not related to that sharp right turn.

    RK24 Hydraulic failure

Thanks for the info. I just traced out the lines. The return and supply line skirt up under the body and seat area so it is tough to be sure but it looks like the return line is routed to an aux valve on the right column of the ROPS. From there it would return to the sump. Since I generally...

    RK24 Hydraulic failure

I have not taken it to the dealer for any troubleshooting. I did show them the pictures above and a video of the block spraying when I operated the loader. They said they had never seen anything like that before. Also did not offer up any additional drawings on that block. The block through RK...

    RK24 Hydraulic failure

@oldnslo , it is a divider block. I cannot find a schematic of the internals but the attached are from the parts manual. If I read the schematics right, the steering column drains back to the sump through its own hose. The loader drains back through this divider block. This time that it failed...

    RK24 Hydraulic failure

Thank You @agjones. Over pressure is what I suspect also. The hydraulic diagram does not show a relief valve. I was going to look at the hydraulic pump for a relief valve next. I will look under the cap first then. I was going to order a gauge and tee to tie it into the pump discharge line. Any...

    RK24 Hydraulic failure

Just joined the community. This post is to both ask and provide information. I have a problem with my RK24 Hydraulic divider block. There is plug on the bottom side of it which blows out the o-ring seal. This happened to me and since I am out of warranty, I replaced the o-ring and it was...
