    Farmall C still relevant?

Thanks for the advice. I probably will. right now I'm a "might" LOL. Mainly I am looking around to see what options there might be for a lift. Something that could pick up something as heavy as a 5' bushhog. So far I only have seen kits that hook on the side lift (like the super A or...

    Farmall C still relevant?

I'm wondering if the C is easier to use w/o power steering because of the weight? It looks like it's lighter in the nose than an H?. Growning up we used an H for everything (Dad still has it). When I was 19 I bought myself a Super MD that had PS and live hydraulics. It really felt much more...

    Farmall C still relevant?

How big of a brush hog do you run? Is it a pull type or do you have some sort of lift on your C?

    Farmall C still relevant?

It's a wide front. I actually "wish" it was a tricycle to a degree. That would make it slightly better for cultivating/hilling that I would like to do. I guess there's a place for both? I don't know what part of the country you're in Wolc123? In my youth we used dad's H to drag logs for...

    Farmall C still relevant?

A neighbor a few miles down the road has a Farmall C for sale. Not a super, just a C. He's asking $1400. Looks ok. Was repainted a few years back and showing a bit of that Farmall "fade" but not too bad looking. Straight C so no fast hitch or fenders. Seems to run decent, gears seem ok as...

New to me lift for tractor?

I bought one of these last year at a consignment sale and used it for the first time yesterday. (Not my lift, mine is the same exact thing, but painted yellow and has a new holland/ford dealer sticker on it). Originally I bought it to be something of a poor-man's forklift for moving pallets...

    Hydraulic fluid/UTF?

That's what I read, but it just seems to feel different to me. Trans is more "geary" if that makes sense? I just feel like it's too thin for the job? I'd rather not spend $150 for a refill of 80w90 though..Was hoping someone that has a little similar experience might come along? I could see...

    Hydraulic fluid/UTF?

Thanks for the thoughts ptsg. I bought Sparex UTF. (ISO 68). I looked online there is no Sparex oil selector chart/tool to be found as best I can tell. I think I'm going to drain it out and maybe use it as hydraulic fluid elsewhere. I don't feel like it's suitable for the Zetor.

    Hydraulic fluid/UTF?

Earlier this week I decided to change the transmission/hydraulic oil in my Zetor 5211 and do a filter change/screen cleaning. After draining it out and cleaning the screen and doing the filter change, I went to town to buy a bucket of 80w90 and a little extra. Well, the local tractor supply...

    MF 231?

Probably 25 years old, but looks like it was shed kept. Everything I own pretty much is from an auction, flea market or garage sale, so I love fixing issues! LOL

    MF 231?

I've decided lately I need a new to me cute little but "real" tractor, and a few days ago I came across a MF231. It's a Polish built 231 that looks pretty sharp. about 1500hrs. Now after checking it over, I thought was a reasonable little tractor, would be good for hay raking/cutting I think...

Interesting conversation with a Ram technician at dealer service dept.

It must vary by location and dealer.... I had a VW Golf 1.8tdi once....VW had a very generous rust repair warranty on that model. Mine developed the "rust" damage that was common defect of that model (Rusting from the inside out-apparently the sound padding they used caused paint wear and rust...

    Rollover paranoia

Rollover fear is always in my mind lol When I was a teenager my dad tipped an H over that had a "defective' loader on it. He had borrowed it to load round bales on a truck. Worked fine until we had a bale up and the loader decided to swing about 18" to the left. The whole tractor went on...

    Case-IH 265 offset gr

Thanks for the reply DJ54. I actually have a 2-14 plow and heavy 6' (Notched) disc for a 140.....Shame (in a way) the Case 265 cant take them. I put them on Facebook a couple days ago for sale as I don't need them.... I think the 265 cultivator looks similar, but I have no way to tell other...

    1948 Farmall H

I think the copper shortage was after 41. Probably more like 42-43. It was Dec 41 when we went to War.

    Case-IH 265 offset gr

Thanks for the reply Farmer495. I am looking to use it as a cultivator, but could be an odd job here or there. Never been on RedPower, I might have to check that out.

    1948 Farmall H

My dad's H had a 6v battery when he bought his. Changed the coil (and battery) to a 12v, unhooked the generator and used it like that for 30 years. He never used it more than 4-5 hours at a time. I always liked the steel finned radiator in his 42. Never ending relic of the War....

    Case-IH 265 offset gr

I've recently acquired a Case 265 offset tractor. It's the standard height 265, not the extra high version. I'd say similar to a Farmall 140. Does anyone know what cultivators fit this tractor? I would like to cultivate sweet corn/vegtables of various types with it. Is it compatible in any...

    Clutch Issue in Zetor 5211?

Thanks for the replies gents. I am somewhat stumped still.... Actually this tractor has done this for a few years now. When I take off the inspection plate and look down in there, everything looks for lack of a better word, new. Nothing is rusted anywhere I can see. I've always kept it...

    Clutch Issue in Zetor 5211?

Ok, I am a little puzzled here.... I have a Zetor 5211, one of the last commie built tractors. Runs great. Very low hours. I replaced all the brake/clutch/master cylinders etc when I bought it 10 years ago. Now, lately it's acting up and I'm puzzled. The Clutch works then doesn't work...
