    Caseih Farmall 50A

Had the same tractor and sold it a few years back. Was a great hay tractor and I never had any of the issues you described. Only problems were the starter went out around 200 hours and the neutral position sensor failed around 250 hours. Otherwise it ran strong for us for quite a few years...

Hay Making on a Different Scale

There is always a point where you “could” consider it losing money as in value compared to your expected value, but leaving it on the field is actual lost money. And people like some of us that have cattle will feed it there to at least get some feed value out of hay that may be unfit for the...

    Batwing Gear Box blew up

Good job getting it off. I worked on one for DAYS on our old brush hog. With heat, pounding, prying, impacts, every darn thing we could think of and it didn’t move an inch. So instead of taking it off to tighten down the bolts holding the gearbox we just welded the gearbox solid and welded the...

Hay Making on a Different Scale

We baled ideally around 15% and 4x4 were about 650 apiece. Our baler was a massive PITA though so I sold it and got a 4x5 and another small square baler. 4x5s of Timothy and clover mixed ran right at 1000 lbs.

    Farmall 50 ?

Don’t know if this is the same but I had a 2018 farmall 50a. Was a good hay tractor for the 300 or so hours i owned it. Only issues I really had was a neutral sensor and starter both around 50 hours of me buying. Worked a 3 bottom plow, disc, and tiller at times too but it spent most of its...

Is anyone running a 7' cutter with less than 32 pto hp?

    All Things BBQ

Kubota L2501 Turbo: A Journey Defined - The Tractor, The Comparison, The Modification, The Results

I had a L2501 and outgrew it quickly. Purchased a Case 50a and outgrew that over a few years. Sold the Kubota at a loss of 400 dollars with around 100 hours on it. Sold the case at a loss of 700 dollars with 350 hours I had put on it. Neither tractor owed me a thing when I got rid of them but I...

    I hate to see this...

My daughters were 5 when they “drove” the pickup truck and trailer for small bales. Set it in low gear, 4 low, and tell em keep it in a straight line. After a half mile walk picking up bales go turn it around at the end for her and walk back picking up the next row.

    I hate to see this...

He’s got the belt on so there’s a positive. My son was 2 when he drove our 50a case tractor baling hay for the first time. With me standing on the side step with him of course. And he only baled the last 100 yards of the last row but he was in heaven. Yes that seat switch was bypassed at the...

I over inflated a tire that is filled with Rim Guard in it.

I would probably drive it for a few hundred feet if ya hadn’t already and stop with the stem at the top. Just let air out til it’s at 16 or so. I can’t imagine a ton of rimguard would come out but could be wrong. Either way it’s just beet juice so no harm in a small amount of spillage to get...

Comparison Case IH Farmall 75A or Deutz 5080D?

The 5080d is about 4k more off the lot in my area. But considering its got radials, tires filled, block heater, fenders, and a few other nice things i can justify the difference.

Comparison Case IH Farmall 75A or Deutz 5080D?

It is next to the dash. Theres a little lever you twist to release it and it moves back towards you far enough to hit the gear selector. I found it comfortable locked in about 4 inches above the gear selector. We will likely have it within 3 weeks he said. Ill take it out in the woods with the...

Comparison Case IH Farmall 75A or Deutz 5080D?

We only have gear tractors on our farm so anyone here can drive it. AC seemed great i turned it down because I was more listening to the noise levels in the cab but it stayed cool enough. Comes with 3 standard remotes. 3 point is just like we are used to. The control is a little lower than id...

Comparison Case IH Farmall 75A or Deutz 5080D?

Darn i wish id have seen this before i went. Lol all i have is the speed sticker from the window. But i dont do all my work in km/h. Went to the dealer and tested the Deutz out and loved most everything about it. The area in the cab around the buddy seat was pretty cramped and the door doesn't...

Comparison Case IH Farmall 75A or Deutz 5080D?

Deutz dealer called and said they finally got the 5080D in and its already spoken for. But hes going to let me drive it tonight. Excited to finally get in a smaller model than the 5120G premium. That was an exceptional tractor to me but way more than I need or can justify on these 60 acres. Will...

Comparison Case IH Farmall 75A or Deutz 5080D?

Our soil is fairly heavy clay. I have about a 3 day window to work it where its not too wet not too dry. That said ive pulled a 3x16 with my 50A in our back field which is a little more loamy and it was able to handle it pretty well. I do sell a ton of small squares of horse hay off the field...

Comparison Case IH Farmall 75A or Deutz 5080D?

Jotted down a side by side comparison of the two tractors not figuring dealer network or price and there are big positives and negatives each way. This only makes the decision tougher. Thanks for the response. That is kind of where i am leaning right now especially with some of what I've read about new case tractors. Comparison Case IH Farmall 75A or Deutz 5080D?

Are the quality control issues anything that should make me worry about it being my last tractor purchase for 20 years? Comparison Case IH Farmall 75A or Deutz 5080D?

That 25 mph is alright. I make one trip a year to my mothers farm to cut her hay. Usually by trailer but i don't have one big enough to haul either of these tractors which should weigh in around 10k with loader and rear weights or filled tires. Ive never seen a Deutz at work but the specs look...

Comparison Case IH Farmall 75A or Deutz 5080D?

Thanks for the response. I have a farmall 50a open station and its been good aside from the clutch sensor i had to replace at about 220 hours which took probably 8 phone calls 2 dealer visits and several hours of online searching to rule out all the other potential issues first. Trading that and...

Comparison Case IH Farmall 75A or Deutz 5080D?

Not sure much about the Deutz. Haven't been able to get to the dealer when they have been open. Been cutting hay and kids softball games all week. The Case 75a is a fairly basic cab tractor.

Comparison  Case IH Farmall 75A or Deutz 5080D?

Looking at both of these tractors for my last tractor purchase for a while. Will have a loader and be used to make hay and any chores around the farm. Seems like the Deutz may be a little overbuilt and last forever. Pros and cons? Any thought? Edit: Both are cab and loader. Both dealers are 10...
