Total newbie putting an order together for a PT-1430

I think I am gonna have fun! Great to hear the specifics of how you use you your PT 1430. Someone else mentioned using the brush hog to tackle the remnants of the forestry mulching I had done. Also, I hadn't considered using the 4 in 1 bucket like that. I bet my first few attempts at opening...

Heard on the pallet forks and extra quick attach plate. Excellent ideas. I think I can live without a winch, because I can drive my pickup to within 20 feet of the wet area, and pull it out with a logging chain if I need to. You gave me some good ideas! Thank You.

Thanks for the response. I am definitely not accident prone, never had a stitch or a broken bone in my life. Any accidents would most likely be caused by inexperience, and there is only one way to overcome that. But point taken. I will be safe as milk.

Nice link! That swinging mini hoe looks sweet. I will look into that further. Curious as to why you prefer a gas powered winch? I need to read up a bit on the 4 in1 bucket, I had never considered one. I really don't know much about their uses. Thank You, Ken

Total newbie putting an order together for a PT-1430

Hello! I have done the hours of research and decided to purchase a PowerTrac. My land is 90 miles away from the factory, so Thursday I drove over for a first hand look and demo. I have up to 20 and 25% hills to mow on 8-10 acres of pasture, so I settled on the PT-1430. It is equipped with a 37hp...

Total noob. Mowing with Toolcat on a hill vs Ventrac vs Kubota L3902

Since I started the thread here, I will finish it up by describing my visit. They asked me not to take pictures in their showroom. The Internet is forever, and they are concerned a potential customer views a piece of machinery that they have updated. That said, it was a VERY impressive showroom...

I actually drove to the PT factory/showroom site today. PowerTrac will be what I go with. So much good to say about that machine, and the people there. This being a ToolCat forum, I will move the discussion to the PowerTrac board. THANK YOU for your recommendation. I had no idea this machine...

I would absolutely love to have one. They look incredible. If they had a dealer network where I could get it serviced, I would already have one. I sure looks like quite the piece of equipment for owners who want to do their own repair work. I may yet pay them a visit, since their factory is only...

I have come to the same conclusion. I think the situation may call for 2 different pieces of equipment, one for safe mowing, and one for tractor stuff. Now, that's just a crying shame, huh?(NOT!!):ROFLMAO:

I have seen that Cub Cadet with the steering system for the front wheels on the ZTR, and I was really thinking that might be the ticket. But looking deeper, the next availability is April 2023, per Cub Cadet.

You are so very correct! My concern is that they have no service available whatsoever. I have have been in the auto repair field since 1978, for 24 years as a tech, and 20 as a shop owner. I have absolutely zero interest in wrenching on anything ever again lol. I guess I could haul it into my...

"If you can mow it straight up and down a normal 4wd tractor with Ag tires will scare you long before it will go over backwards, IMO. On the slope in front of the pines I was watching to see if the oil pressure light for the engine was going to go on, and I was happy I left the bucket on the...

"What’s your budget? ;) As others have mentioned, if you’re concerned about slopes, take a look at PowerTrac as you also look at other machines, just to get an idea of what they offer. They make several different sizes of machines, and two slope mowers that are rated at 40 and 45 degrees (45...

"I bought a little BX with the 60" mid mount deck, and it is GREAT. I can cut all our slopes and even mow ones I really shouldn't. I am older, think Medicare age, with ZERO experience with tractors or landscape equipment. I have a 50 acre property in the Va. hills that I started mowing 8-9 acres on. A lot of it is flat, but there are several acres with a 20 degree-ish slope on it. I have a quote from Kubota for an L3902. I...
