I believe (in Ontario) the furnace fuel has kerosene added to it for winter burning to avoid gelling? The dyed diesel near me is 30-40 cents per gallon cheaper, so its not a great savings.

We always just used a bungee cord on our john deere. Not fancy but it worked. I use a gas splitter now, as a 6.5hp engine is cheap and easy. Tractors are getting expensive to maintain.
