Thanks to all for responses. I'm enclosing a pic of cutter. Slight clay content in soil, otherwise sandy loam. I've tried uploading a video but can't get it to take. Bit spins, I've tried low speed, high speed. With bit tucked up under auger arm 3 point arms allow for full descent.

I went to use my 3 point auger on my JD 4710 tractor for the first time in years. Everything hooked up fine but when I drop the auger to the dirt it won't screw down to create the hole. The lift mechanism is totally dropped, it just wont dig in. Any help would be appreciated.

I unwisely lent my JD 4710 with an LX5 cuttter to a friend. He sheared the shear bolt (non clutch style) and continued to run cutter. I now cannot get the yoke collar to spin free of the gearbox shaft. Is it possible that the heat of the collar spinning around shaft "welded" one to another? Is...
