I did not hear that John Deere is starting to move production out of USA. FOR some model tractors

I haven't bought anything Green in a long time. The only JD product I have is an old LA100 mower. They lost me at the beginning of the 'right to repair battle' It's just a C/S way to do business. Even the slightest issue requires a tech to drive seventy miles to read the software and make one...

Horse lays down for a couple hours = start digging grave?

Out here in North western Nevada, I see plenty of animals laying down for various reasons. Horses lay down, roll in the dirt or grass and then nap. I watch the cattle more closely. Around here, their behavior is sometimes a weather gauge. If their laying down I prepare for lightning and thunder...

Is the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame a joke?

Music taste and religion, are up there on the list of causal agents for arguments. I personally like just about everything except Rap, Nortenos, Narco Corridas and Techno. I even have an album of Indonesian Gamelan music.

My Steering Wheel does not stay centered

The steering wheel issue was something we used to torture mouthy new mechanics with. We would point them to a Gradall and tell them to sort out the steering wheel clocking. Even brand new ones don't index the same way from use to use.

Really need your advice whether my daughters car is safe to drive or not as she needs to return to school later this morning

It sounds like you're having trouble in the vicinity of the throttle body which is under the top cover. The codes involve TPS throttle position sensors and the MAP sensor Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor. The commentors are correct in saying you should check vacuum lines and connections to the...

What is the oddest machine you have worked on or operated

I can think of two that vie for the oddest title. I helped repair a walking beam pit saw. It was powered by a water wheel and long leather belts approx. 8" inches wide All the drives were oak and I think the shafts were Hemlock. It was a nice distraction from what I was doing. I finally got to...

    Jointer Questions

I've found some interesting items on Facebook Marketplace. I just picked up a fairly new Grapple bucket on the cheap. I had a couple hours round trip to the People's Republic to pick it up. But it's just not useful to the former owner. You might consider looking on FB, in your own area of course.

    Boomer 33 ECU

I've seen a few sites for Breakers of tractors and equipment. Try used tractor parts and then use your model number. It may take a bit of detective work. Apologies if I'm pointing out the obvious. And used ECM/ECU's are always a crap shoot.

Looking to counter Bobcat's rort with it's ripoff prices for mower parts to suit the CT1025.

Even with the exchange rate it's a bit of a stretch. All my Bobcat experience is with Skidsteers. I did look at the US prices for those items, 3 blades 85.99 1 belt 185.99 comes to 443.96 US or 682.47 Au. Do you have a mate in the US that can buy them here and send them on? Even with freight it...

Are tractors and equipment a good investment right now?

Except Dubai, they made some more land. I'm not sure if it worked out for them but.....

Cameras and the weather and the placement of For/rev lever

I made something like that years ago. I used two of the Union 76 antenna balls and two speaker magnets. Still works, but I had to put tennis balls in place of the antenna balls. Styrofoam apparently doesn't like UV.

    lost nuts!

I believe the phenomenon you describe has to do with short duration worm holes. It the same thing that causes socks to disappear from the dryer.

    Bitcoin: What do you think?

It's the Canadian equivalent of MSHA which is Mining Safety and Health administration. At least that was what I was given to understand CMCP is the Canadian Mining Certification Program.

    oil furnace sooting extensively

I had that problem and it turned out to be a faulty pressure regulator. I think it was $70.00 plus the labor. No problems since then. That's the sort of thing i like to leave to professionals. I try not to mess with systems that can cost me more if I poke around in them. NOSHOK is the brand I...

    Bitcoin: What do you think?

There's a reason I don't work on my own HVAC, and that's because I don't know what I'm doing. I understand how it works but repairing it is another thing altogether. The same goes for Crypto Currency except for the knowing how it works bit. Frankly, I'd rather have a refresher course in New Math...

Fed Ex - A Lazy Bunch

It occurs rarely, our carriers are two older ladies, at least older than me. One drives and the other delivers the actual mail. Nice people but they make mistakes. Like my neighbors if I get someone else's mail or package, I take it to them ASAP. UPS delivered a bicycle I didn't order. It...

Fed Ex - A Lazy Bunch

I know that UPS and FEDEX track every second a driver spends at a location. It affects how much time it takes to deliver something and if the loaders have buried what he's looking for, then he has to report that. If he doesn't , he'll have somebody up his old address about it. Out here Fedex...

Has anyone had success using a Ratchet Rake on Tumbleweeds and Sage?

Unfortunately the tumble weeds conceal big rocks and i just about ruined my 3 point brush hog. Once I get them cleared this year I'll do more grading and rock removal. The rake isn't terribly expensive so I might give it a try.

Has anyone had success using a Ratchet Rake on Tumbleweeds and Sage?

We had a bumper crop of Tumble weeds in Northern Nevada this year. I'm still clearing large areas. I have another couple acres to go. I was watching the demo and wondered how the Ratchet Rake might work on them.

What is some of your Pet Peeve's

Most Chrysler products had them up to the early 60's My Dodge Power Wagons have them . 65 & 66 respectively. I listen to just about everything, with the exception of rap and nortenõs and narco corridas. There is some really bad country music out there. Tammy Whinette springs to mind.

    Good morning!!!!

39° here in Mason Valley Nv. So shirtsleeve weather. Still clearing out the biggest crop of tumble weeds we've had around here since I arrived. The 22/23 winter was the rainiest and snowiest since the 90's.

What is some of your Pet Peeve's

I had a 56' Plymouth with the push button shift. Never had a problem. Later I had a 63 Valiant and it had a lever in the dash as I recall. The problem I had those was, that the slant 6 ran so quiet, my brother was always trying to start the car while it was running. That led to changing the...

What is some of your Pet Peeve's

Mine is the way that grocery stores constantly move things around. Kraft Cheese-Wiz has moved at least four times at the closest Smith's. First it's with the chips, then it was with the condiments, later they moved it onto the aisle with the noodles and now it's in the dairy section. That's just...

    Christmas came early!

I've always thought that dealers and lenders use a branch of math akin to Quantum Physics. That goes for vehicles and equipment both. It's deliberately complex for the purpose of confusing the buyer. It's always best to go with cash.

    Backing up a Gen Trailer

I did read his posts. His primary concern was getting the thing parked. It's not that hard to reconnect a pto after the generator is where it needs to be.

    Backing up a Gen Trailer

This unit is pretty simple to make in your shop. I made this one for a Gradall with wider forks. It's pretty easy to back a short tongue trailer, without breaking your neck.

Where to mount 3rd function valve for 90's Kubota L4200 with LA680

This is probably too late to be helpful, But what I've done is to design a system using a four valve stack mounted in the original location. The fourth valve is for the top link cylinder. I may add rear remotes at some point, but I don't really need them at this point. I'll be using the Magister...

How Many Have More Than One Tractor?

I'm in the same boat. I probably have more tractor than I need. The L4200 is 45hp supposedly but I'm not doing agriculture, just some landscaping and tumbleweed removal. I can do most of that with the skid steer, but that thing kills my knees climbing in and out to make very little adjustment...

How Many Have More Than One Tractor?

I have an L4200 which i recently bought. I've had a Bobcat 763 for years. other than that just the JD LA120 mower. I take the deck off that one and pull a small spray cart to keep the tumbleweeds down.

    New to me 2000 L4200

Greetings, not sure if this is the place to do it but since most of my early focus with his beast will be hydraulic in nature I thought I'd start here. I've actually got quite a bit of experience with Kubotas, Bobcats and Gradall & JLG machines. We rented Kubotas including 4200. Mostly gear...
