So after 1400+ hours float is not working correctly. The slightest bump in terrain pops it out and now I also notice when lifting the bucket (or whatever) the lift continues after I let go of the handle. Plan to call Terry tomorrow and wondering if it's an easy fix like a cleaning of something...

Peter, +1 on the grease. They get a good dose every 5 hours of tractor use of which 75% of the time is mowing in spring/early summer. Also agree on bolt replacement, it's been bugging me and will likely get new ones this week.

I must admit I didn't go ape with the rubber mallet. I watch the force I use on things I haven't worked on as I have learned my lesson about brute force when it wasn't needed. I just went easy also thinking a spacer or a retaining clip was involved since I couldn't see a lot between the grease...

I would try those except there is play in the bolt. I can pull it out about 1/2 an inch and it rotates. I'm going to try the other wheel tomorrow and if it's the same I'll be calling Tazewell for help. Well I guess I'll be calling regardless.

Here is the bolt and nut. Nut comes off easily enough.

So I wanted to remove a front rubber wheel to untangle some string that got wrapped around the axle bolt head. Got the nut off and as hard as I banged on the bolt it did not budge. Won't unscrew either....wazzup?!

Good move! And like MR, I would not hesitate in buying another PT if needed. I can't imagine being w/o it.

Well, after a couple of "please help!" calls to Terry at PT...steering is back to normal. Turns out the 3 "extra" O rings would have been needed if I had leaks, which I did not. Glad for that because I'm not sure I could have removed that nut on the ram. Only needed the 2 O rings that are below...

Yep, will be calling in the morning. Looks like there were 2 O rings under the nut and one was completely disintegrated, it's a wonder it worked at all.

So, I got the seal kit. Got the cylinder out of the tractor(that was a bit tricky in itself), unscrewed the one end and thought I had drained the cylinder. Was not prepared for the gush of oil when I removed the bottom connection. Anyways, attached are some pics. Except for the black seal, none...

Thanks for the responses. The loader works fine and articulation is good although it's a real bugger to get grease into the joint underneath. I'll be checking the cylinder as noted, kinda sounds like a repacking kit is in order.
