    Buying Advice PTO or Gas

I bought the Powerhorse 5” chipper with 15hp from Northern Tool. It was on sale and I got my veteran discount too. Saved about $450. It’s china made but, I’m surprised that it weighs 375 pounds. It appears to be made well. I talked to the mechanic before I bought it. He said he’s only ever had...

    Buying Advice PTO or Gas

Baumalight but, yes same as WM. Good point about the length…I’ll have to do some research. The FEL or grapple should be able to maneuver a gas unit into the bed…maybe? I work usually within 30 minutes but, trying not to make multiple trips. Thanks folks and keep the comments and suggestions coming!

    Buying Advice  PTO or Gas

I’m looking for a chipper to augment my part time tree work and at home. It’s a pain sometimes when I have to remove the brush. I also have a lot of trees in my yard and constantly piling up brush. I have a Yanmar SA325 with a 23.9 Engine HP and PTO 18.1-HP. I usually bring the tractor in my...

Is your rear PTO this loud?

My 2024 SA325 sounds just like the OP tractor. It is quiet when my stump grinder is on it.

    Yanmar SA325 newbie

FYI. I tried the Kubota L3902 and it creeps on a grade. I also talked to a guy with an SA425 and his creeps. The dealer adjusted the fwd/rev pedals. This stopped the rolling. All good now.

Thanks guys. My buddy’s Kioti operates similarly. I’ll test the Kubota L3902 next.

Thinking of getting into stump grinding

I have a Baumalight 1P24 for years 4-5? Lost count. Works good on 25hp Yanmar. Higher HP probably better. It grinds little stumps pretty quick, but I have done several 6 ft across. You have to be careful and not push it. One wrong move and you could tear PTO up. It does throw chips everywhere...

    Yanmar SA325 newbie

Low but, it doesn’t matter. Hi/low gear or up/down rpm, it still rolls. Even on flat ground I can push it. I believe something is wrong. I’ve searched the web and haven’t seen this issue.

    Yanmar SA325 newbie

I worked on stump grinding today with my Baumalight 1p24. It was on a slight slope. I had to have the front pointed up hill so the chips wouldn’t hit a building. I had to be very conscious about roll back. I would feather the fwd pedal to keep from losing my progress and the back of the cutting...

    Yanmar SA325 newbie

I hear what you’re saying but, neither my Kubota BX or the L3902 does it. I was working some dirt on a slope and lifted my foot looking back at my work when it started rolling. I have to constantly push the fwd pedal to keep it from rolling. It’s a little unsettling. That’s why I was asking if...

    Yanmar SA325 newbie

I have owned and operated hydrostatic tractors and equipment. This new Yanmar SA325 will roll on the slightest slope. If i take my foot off the pedal, I have to quickly hit the brake. I don’t think this should be happening unless it’s a Yanmar thing. Any SA owners comment please.
