You nailed it. I ran 12v from the battery to the switched 12v at the starter solenoid and it started right up. The solenoid only gets 11v when the key is turned. Apparently that isn’t enough.

Have a tc35d that intermittently doesn’t start. The starter makes a click when you turn the key and a click when you let the key go. It might do this for a minute or 10 minutes and then when it engages starts right up. Battery and connections are good. Ground connection is good. Here’s a video...
