How good or useful is a tractor rake?

The rake for the wood chips IMO just spread them around more. It might be easier to drop the bucket to the left side of hte stump leaving room for the tractor and chip into the bucket then rake by hand whats left when your done. No easy way to clean up wood chips unfortunately. But for your...

Name the car you passed your drivers license in?

Took my test in the 1971 F250 4x4 4 speed no power steering - and the PA state trooper had me parallel park at the end of the test too. Passed no issues, as I had been driving trucks and tractors since about 8 when I couldnt reach the clutch so ran the old 57 international truck in first gear only.

    Thoughts on 3pt log splitters?

    Thoughts on 3pt log splitters?

I use a 3PT splitter on my FEL with hoses to the BH connection. Use the BH to lift and cut 20-30 rounds then connect the splitter hoses and run at 1200 RPM. I can do a 1/2 cord in 3-4 hours. Also can lower the splitter to the ground to load large rounds.

    Wood floor over concrete?

Agree with KennyG - moisture will ruin a good wood floor. If your mostly on a sand base and a walk out basement that isn't damp or does not sweat in the summer, and you don't have water issues today, and have a low point you can keep open it's ok to install a floor. Plastic moisture barrier...

Kubota B/L2563 on L2250DT with FEL bracket?

I started with my Cub Cadet 1811 (similar to the 445) with a plow and chains, for 8 years, then got my Kubota B21 in 2001 and rear blade set up and havent used the Cub for snow since. Also have a walk behind SB for paths and walkways. I bought a 60" PTO rear blower, in 2016, (after 130" snow...

Kubota B/L2563 on L2250DT with FEL bracket?

Yes the 2563 should fit your L2250 but the loader comes off and the front blower and frame goes on - its appears to be a quite alot of connections to make too, and do you have a center PTO on your tractor? They also make a 3PT hitch version of the 2563 too, which would be easier, or for that...

B7800 will not run after rain?

You are fortunate to have a known machine, so inquire when they last did the major service? Typically (300 hours) is Hydraulic SUDT and Filters, Engine oil 50-100 hrs, and air and fuel filter is check/clean at 50 hours and replace at 200. Depends on care and condition - if stored outside...

B7800 will not run after rain?

OK so it started now with a puff of black smoke, which is normal in the first few seconds after starting. I suspect it was the plugged air filter, when its wet / damp the pores of the filter are so plugged it can't get air - though its rare, it is possible if you are in a damp, humid...

  105. Carl_NH

B7800 will not run after rain?

When you installed the new fuel filter, did you let the small canister fill with diesel before tightening the bowl? That eliminates any air in the system, and if you did not do that, yes, the engine will run until it pulls that air in, then you need to crank it to remove it. You could still...

Cleaning Under Zero-Turn Deck After Every Session: Really Necessary?

Get Gator blades - they mulch up leaves, and I can't believe the Kubota doesn't have the HP to run a mulching kit? They put mulching kits on the standard ZT all the time. We have 15 large red and white oak trees and lots of leaves - I mulch into windrows then vac them up.

Struggling with MX5400 purchase — could get MX6000 for same price. What would you do?

Agree with jyoutz go with "other local dealer" MX6000 for $49K - it's up to you to decide to ask your first dealer to match the price - depends on your "relationship" I guess - IMO it never hurts to ask as they may match it or make it better..

Agree with you Steve, and how do you adjust the CSV setting when the CSV is inside the well casing - pull the pump?

    “Terror” Chinese excavator

Nice machine - it looks pretty much like the Hightop HT20 model. I used bungee cords to tie to the boom - also point the 90's up on the bucket. I found the bucket moved too fast with the foot pedal so I throttled the valve back to about half, made it slower and more controllable. Interesting...

Lightning strike, well pump box failed

David, I see a pump house near your well as the best long term solution, with one or two proper large storage pump tanks, then segregate your external and internal water lines. "About 80 feet from the wellhead there is a T and 150 foot line to a hydrant. I intend to put a T in that line and...

Lightning strike, well pump box failed

David, so you will have all that pipe which is controlled by a pressure switch in the house which creates a large storage capacity (think of the pipe as a part of your storage capacity) in the pipe and allowing the water to flow both ways from the outside pipe into the house. Then potential...

The WellxTrol 203 32 Gal at 30/50 has 10 gal drawdown, and at 40/60 9 Gal is about the minimum you would want for the pump to run for about a minute. The reasons to put the filter after the switch are many - when the filter starts to plug it can damage the pump, and if your concerned about...

Lightning strike, well pump box failed

David, I would go with the WellxTrol 203 32 gal - its 15x47" so would fit in that corner on the floor under your existing tank. Just plumb it in series, also with your tank Tee on the new tank put a drain valve. Also do not put the filter before the switch and tanks - that will cause problems...

Lightning strike, well pump box failed

You may have a burst bladder tank, but first turn off the pump, drain/empty the tank to zero on pump guage, and check the bladder tank pressure - it should be 38 PSI empty. Then add air to the schrader valve on the top of the tank it should hold pressure at 38PSI with the tank drain valve open...
