2018 Toolcat 5600 2100 hours charge pressure dropping when warming up !

I thought the moving problem was only when the TC gets warm but in fact, even when cold it will not move on a small hill or bump. It feels like it is not having enough hydraulic power and when trying to go up the small hill, there is a slipping or grinding noise coming from the front below the...

2018 Toolcat 5600 2100 hours charge pressure dropping when warming up !

Gee, I thought it fixed itself for a while. I was able to drive for about 2 miles with 250-300 psi on brake line gauge and on T connector gauge of front motor hoses. It ran for about 15-20 minutes then at low idle pressure dropped below 70 and was hardly moving with high rpm. I did not have the...

2018 Toolcat 5600 2100 hours charge pressure dropping when warming up !

I will try this in the week-end. The charge pressure drops while sitting still in low idle. I never checked the temperature of the motor case nor the pump but engine temp is low.

2018 Toolcat 5600 2100 hours charge pressure dropping when warming up !

So capping the G line going to P1 on the pilot manifold and checking pressure on the front looped work lines is what I should do ?

It does look like it. 3 pictures I took and one of the picture from the service manual.

2018 Toolcat 5600 2100 hours charge pressure dropping when warming up !

That is a great idea ! The pilot manifold is in front of the rear right wheel and there is a procedure to remove it in the TC service manual. But it feeds the 'servo enable SD' which I think is used to move the swash plate (I am not sure about that). But iT sure beats trying to cap all the break...

2018 Toolcat 5600 2100 hours charge pressure dropping when warming up !

When cold at 2,000+rpm, charge pressure port show 360+ but it drops rapidly after a couple of mins. It could not be air in the system ?

2018 Toolcat 5600 2100 hours charge pressure dropping when warming up !

The 50-13 error code is because I don't have the front speed sensor connected.

2018 Toolcat 5600 2100 hours charge pressure dropping when warming up !

This is what I recorded, the gauge on the left is attached to one of the front brake hose and the one on the right is on the looped motor hose. Lifting the cab to get to the pump is not an option at this time...

Sorry I reread your comment and yes I was loosing pressure with the motor hoses connected too.

2018 Toolcat 5600 2100 hours charge pressure dropping when warming up !

Front motor is hoses looped. I don't know where I am loosing the charge pressure. I suppose I could hose loop the rear motor and see what happens ?

2018 Toolcat 5600 2100 hours charge pressure dropping when warming up !

In January I had a front motor hose brake , left the machine there for 1 month in the snow, then patched up the hose with a screw-in connector. In May, we retighten the connector as it had lost all the oil. I then added Mobil oil and restarted the machine. Moving sand for about one hour, it...

2018 Toolcat 5600, 2100hours, barely moving forward or backup after a hose break repair

Well, what appeared to be a front drive motor problem is not! I needed to move the machine and capped the 2 break lines (I have traction control), the motor case drain and 2 speed hoses and connected the 2 big motor hoses together with a T union with a pressure gauge. Also I have a pressure...

2018 Toolcat 5600 drive motor pressure from hydrostatic pump question

I forgot to mention, at one point I got 950 psi when in forward drive with drive pedal down.

2018 Toolcat 5600 drive motor pressure from hydrostatic pump question

Hello everyone, I have a front drive motor issue and wrote about it in another post and I have yet to resolve the problem. I found small debris in the drive motor relief valve, took it out and reconnected the drive hoses, yet the motor gear is still not turning but the rear wheels are. The drive...

2018 Toolcat 5600, 2100hours, barely moving forward or backup after a hose break repair

I then inspected the hose with the fitting we screwed in to make the joint and sure enough the inside of the hose has a cut in the rubber hanging loose ready to go in the motor to make more damage.

2018 Toolcat 5600, 2100hours, barely moving forward or backup after a hose break repair

This is the video I filmed when I took out the relief valve from the drive motor. When I saw there was something in there, I started my phone video.

2018 Toolcat 5600, 2100hours, barely moving forward or backup after a hose break repair

Today, I started removing drive motor plugs as per TC-Service-manual and found debris which appears to be hose related in the relief valve hole. I think it was blocking the small 'HOLE' in the middle leaving the relief valve opened.

2018 Toolcat 5600, 2100hours, barely moving forward or backup after a hose break repair

Charge pressure is within specs on high idle. Almost 350 psi. I capped the front drive hose and only get close to 1000 PSI but I know the drive motor does not turn when the hoses were on. You wrote drive loop pressure, do you mean connecting the 2 hoses together and testing pressure on a T type...

2018 Toolcat 5600, 2100hours, barely moving forward or backup after a hose break repair

Update. I hooked all the hoses and speed sensor while I have the drive motor and the transaxle separated on the floor. Started the machine, forward/reverse only the rear wheels are turning but not the motor gear. Notice, I pressed the fast speed button on the left lever and the rear wheels also...

2018 Toolcat 5600, 2100hours, barely moving forward or backup after a hose break repair

Almost there... I have bought 6 feet long hoses for the motor and transxale, so I can test the drive motor aside(see if turns) and transxale while on the floor. When I started the TC, I got a 50-13 error code. Because I did not extend the 4 wires Deutsch connector. Now ... my reasoning is ... If...

2018 Toolcat 5600, 2100hours, barely moving forward or backup after a hose break repair

No, I don't know for sure. All I know is, when I jacked the TC up, only the rear wheels were turning. But on the ground, it would move forward or backward when cold, getting warmer it would stop moving making a weird sound, then I would increase the throttle and it would start moving again and...

2018 Toolcat 5600, 2100hours, barely moving forward or backup after a hose break repair

We dropped the front transaxle on the floor with the drive motor. Is there a way to just test the drive motor (to see if it turns when going forward/reverse with the hoses) ? The new hoses are in place on the pump side.

2018 Toolcat 5600, 2100hours, barely moving forward or backup after a hose break repair

I unplugged the front top motor hose from the drive motor to see if there was flow restriction with the repair and there is plenty of oil coming out the hose. The TC was in neutral, I did not expect that much oil pressure. Still working on the hose change. The other end of the hose is in a...

2018 Toolcat 5600, 2100hours, barely moving forward or backup after a hose break repair

Up off the ground, only the rear wheels are turning in both forward/reverse direction. I tried moving the front wheels by hand and seemed locked. I did this when the machine was warm. I had no problem backing it outside the garage. Now I am going to change that hose and let you know.

2018 Toolcat 5600, 2100hours, barely moving forward or backup after a hose break repair

Interceptor, thanks for sticking with me on this problem. No, I have not jacked up the TC yet but I just realized that if I do, this would possibly tell me if the brakes are the problem. I saw the vent on the front transxale, was not blocked (eyesight) but I ordered a new one last week and will...

2018 Toolcat 5600, 2100hours, barely moving forward or backup after a hose break repair

I guess I should test the charge pump pressure at this time ! The front attachment and back bed is working fine and is very responsive.

2018 Toolcat 5600, 2100hours, barely moving forward or backup after a hose break repair

Update. I replaced the hd oil today with HD 56 and no change on the problem. I can move the TC out of the garage but 2 mins after it will barely move forward or backward unless I increase the throttle. Eventually full throttle will not work either as it gets warmer. Today's outside temperature...

2018 Toolcat 5600, 2100hours, barely moving forward or backup after a hose break repair

Update. I did not change the front motor hose yet. As you suggested, I removed the oil check plug from the front axle. I did get a small blow out of oil when I removed it and a bit of overflow afterwards. I am wondering if the brake hose is leaking inside the front axle, will it spill oil out of...

2018 Toolcat 5600, 2100hours, barely moving forward or backup after a hose break repair

Well, I decided to change the whole hose. I think the union fitting and the 90 degree fitting on the drive motor is causing restriction as opposed to the other hose below. Also I noticed one the rear motor pump is leaking a little bit on the hydraulic pump side, so ... I will change all 4 hoses...

2018 Toolcat 5600, 2100hours, barely moving forward or backup after a hose break repair

First, thank you very much for your feedback ! Yesterday, when I ordered the correct service manual for the AHG8 series, the dealer told me the parts catalog is online. I went and looked at the hydraulic section and YES, the two hoses go right into the front drive motor. I removed the front...

2018 Toolcat 5600, 2100hours, barely moving forward or backup after a hose break repair

I thought that hose was going to the front equipment. I wanted to change the whole hose but couldn't figure out where the other end was going to without removing the cab. I know the guy who put the fitting had a hard time screwing it in the hose. I certainly will undo it and check that out. Not...

2018 Toolcat 5600, 2100hours, barely moving forward or backup after a hose break repair

The guy who sold me the TC was using AW-32(1st picture) from NAPA and that is what we put in after the hose was temporarely fixed. Last year, we had a leaking bed hose and we added AW-32 also. After the repair(3rd picture), the hose union leaked and I had no more of that oil so I put the...

HD46 Mobil is the oil I just changed with. I am going to make a video of the problem and put it on Youtube for you all to watch. I was expecting metal in the filters when I opened them up but there are no debris of some sort and no milky oil also. Maybe air is in the system but someone said it...

2018 Toolcat 5600, 2100hours, barely moving forward or backup after a hose break repair

In January (-20C) pushing snow, one of the front right behind the wheel hose broke on the 90 degree iron coupling. All the hydraulic oil ended on the snow. The 5600 stayed there for about one month. I put a screw on hose coupler and changed the other end. Put oil back in and was able to use the...
