    20 inch chainsaw recommendation

I find that the Echo's are easier to start. If you get a Stihl get a model with the compression relief.

    UTV Suggestions

I have the John Deere Gator 850D XUV and I don't think you can beat it. When in the market I test drove the Kawasaki Mule and the Kubota RTV. The Kawasaki was very good but I didn't like the way the Kubota handled. Your best bet is to go and test drive any and all that you are considering.

I have the John Deere Gator 850D XUV and I don't think you can beat it. It is an 850cc diesel with a hydraulic dump box. When was in the market I tested the Kawasaki Mule and good and I also tested the Kubota and did not care for the way it handled.

Who knows about stacked-block retaining walls?

Make sure you put in deadman tiebacks and backfill with something that will drain well, Not sand. 3B gravel would be good, 2B is also OK.

What are your guys thoughts on a small TLB?

I have both a TLB and an excavator and since I got the excavator I haven't used the hoe on the TLB. Wish I had bought the tractor without the hoe. Whatever you choose, decide what the largest, most powerful TLB you think you need and then get a larger one.

Buying Advice Questions about potential purchase, not sure where to start

John Deere and Kubota are both great tractors. If you get a backhoe be sure to get it with a thumb. Get 4-wheel drive. Get loaded tires. A cab is a nice luxury if you expect to use in very hot or cold weather.. Of course get a loader. Finally, decide what is the maximum/heaviest tractor...

Really, really dumb question about difference between off road and on road diesel fuel.

The only difference is the dye and price (due to extra taxes). I use highway diesel in my tractor all the time even though I could use off-road and save money, but I use the highway type in case of an emergency and I have to "borrow" some tractor fuel for my truck. I don't want to get caught...

How hard is it to learn to use a rental mini-excavator?

Not that hard to learn how to run an excavator. A little harder to get good at it. I recommend that whatever you rent that you get one with a thumb.

Buy more tractor than you think you need. You will always want a bigger/better tractor. Check out each dealer's reputation and whether or not they will pick up for service.

    Backhoe vs Tractor with backhoe

This is a little confusing to me. How are you differentiating between a tractor and a TLB? I have a John Deere excavator which is a tracked backhoe and a Century TLB tractor. The TLB has a loader on the front and a Backhoe on the back. Since I got the excavator, I haven't used the Backhoe on...

Will cutting brass with steel cause a spark?

Why do you want to get rid of them? You don't use propane anymore? If you do, just go to Lowes or Home Depot and do an exchange for a reconditioned tank.

    Suggestions on 20” pro saw

I have the Stihl 260 (which is the older version of the same saw) and it is fabulous! It has a compression relieve valve which makes it easy to start. Echo is also good. Don't consider anything other than Stihl or Echo.
