    ROPS Mounted Umbrella Modification

I got one of the JD ROPS umbrellas for my JD 4300 but found the mounting bracket far too big and a real limb catcher when the umbrella was off the bracket. I made a new mounting for the ROPS that is much smaller, lower and is not in the way when the umbrella is removed. I didn't get around to...

    Rear blade Hydraulics

I added an angle cylinder to my standard blade. The cylinder was one that Princedirect had as surplus for $20.00 and I just added some brackets to the blade for the cylinder. I connected to the third control valve on my JD 4300. That along with the top and tilt gives me full hydraulic control...

JD 430 loader fork modified for a carryall

I added some lift pins to my JD 430 loader forks and made a 3pt hitch fork attachment. It also doubles as a carryall with a pallet on the forks. The top bracket came off an old bush hog and I just bolted it to the forks using the hole for the bale spear. It works great with the quick hitch...

Tilt Meter mounting on JD 4300

Attached is a photo of my mounting of a tilt meter. I didn't like the bracket that came with the meter (it was just to big). I just bent up a piece of sheet metal to fit the slot, and under the instrument panel and down to lock it in place. I slotted one hole for vertical adjustment. Jim

Quick Hitches  Tractor Supply Quick Hitch dimentions

Does anyone have a speeco-Tractor Supply-Northeren Tool Cat 1 quick hitch and know the exact measured distance between the inside of the lower hooks. Cat 1 is supposed to be ~26" but most of my stuff is more like 27". See the attachment. My local TS does not have one in stock to "measure"...

My JD 4300 4th & 5th valve joystick- Top and Tilt

I had been interested in the discussions of the benefits of having extra hydraulic outlets in front and back. I had three sets in the front with the loader and 4-in-1, but only one in the back from the third valve to operate the 4-1. Nothing to run the top-n-tilt I wanted without disabling...

    My homemade TopNTilt/4th&5th control valve

I had the third valve already installed on my JD 4300 for a 4 in 1 bucket and it provided rear hydraulic outlets. I thought that that the rear outlets could be used for a T-N-T operation so I first got a top cylinder from Green Manufacturing. I added a couple bushings and some hoses and it...

    JD 4300 Power Beyond Question

My JD 4300 currently has neither a power beyond or backhoe. As I understand it; the power beyond kit includes a pressure outlet, return connection, and a hose to connect to the rockshaft valve. The rockshaft hose being normally connected to the outlet. In installing a BH the rockshafts...

Oil & Fuel  Jet A fuel in a diesel tractor?

My son works at an airport fueling private planes, etc. and says that they use "Jet A" kerosine in all their diesel trucks, tugs, etc. They report no operational or maintenance problems. The fuel that they drain from the planes tanks during the refueling operation is available free. Anyone...

    4300 Wiring Diagram

I am looking for a wiring diagram for my JD 4300. I want to find out what the "Aux" switch position does and how to use it, and/or find a way to get an ON voltage output for such things a radio and a sprayer pump, Cellphone, etc. I also want to know the layout of the "fuse-Relay" panel that...

    Buying a 4300 with Loader-Price Check?

I have a local dealer that has a JD 4300 4WD (New) that he quoted to sell for $15,580 (tax, etc included). It has 12/12 shuttle trans, loader, big optional bar tires, and folding ROPS. It is an old model (last year), but it seems like a good deal. Comments?? I may be trading in a MF 1140...
