Heard New Holland and Shibaura are parting ways. Is that true? What is NH doing for engines and components going forward, if so?

How does the Prowler stack up to the Teryx and Rhino? I've driven the Rhino and loved the power, and I've been eyeing the Teryx and Prowler too. I've always liked Arctic Cat's products, but I'm curious how you guys like the Prowler compared to the other two.

That would be so cool, but at this point, no sign of any PTO. That would be cool if they took advantage of the hydraulics to power a PTO, but that may take too much HP to run a PTO and drive it.

It's got 8 batteries. 6 under the seat and 2 under the hood (probably for balance).

Caterpiller! They already use these power plants on the ZTRs- a 28hp 1100cc 3 cylinder diesel and a 35hp 1500cc 4 cylinder diesel!! I tell ya though, Bad Boy is looking real hard at the Daihatsu engines though because they have better turbo options, and Bad Boy really would like a turbo diesel...

They are great engines. Very underrated IMO. I'm fired up about the electric MTVs, but it's the gas unit that I'm VERY excited about. A machine on this platform will blow the RTV away, especially if they offer it with the 1100 or 1500 CAT engines.

I should note that the black models are limited edition units, and may cost a little more than the orange. I saw HD Field Trax tires up at the factory today, so I would bet those are available for a more turf-friendly alternative to the all terrain tires on there.

I see there aren't near as many threads about them on here as there are about Deere, Kubota, and NH. Shoot, even Kioti and Mahindra have more threads. Is the number of threads significant of the market share of these brands, or are certain brands just hyped up on the internet?

Yeah, Bad Boy usually doesn't push it cuz if you spend another $600-$700 you can get into a Lightning with 4 wheel suspension (if you're looking at the 30hp Kohler or 31hp Kawasaki--the 23hp Vanguard is another story). Which engine did you pick? Pix???? :D

All that, the conditions, and the actual degree of the slope also have an effect. Some slopes just aren't compatible with riding mowers.

No, hill-holding really has more to do with tire size, weight distribution (and center of gravity), and speed. You have to really slow down on hills, and this is the case with any mower. Suspension only really increases traction when you're on rough terrain at higher speeds.

Tnak, Answer 1: The weight should help a little, but more what's going to help is the larger rear tires. Turf Masters are great tires, but the wider the better. Bar lugs grip best, or you could also try an ATV type of tire like the Carlisle HD Field Trax. What kind of slope are you trying to...

They're both beastly engines. The Kawi is 1hp less, but puts out 2 more lb-ft of torque. The power is awash. Both are great engines. I haven't gotten a chance to put my hands on a 31hp Kawasaki model yet as they were only out in limited numbers this year and are bought up through the summer...
