I don't think I trust those overheat and low oil pressure lights and would like to go with mechanical gauges. Can someone give me an idea of the oil pressure these little diesels are pumping? How about typical temp? I have a 1500D if that changes anything. Thanks for the input guys.
The Fram 3593 oil filter pysically matched up to my 1500D but is there a bypass in the Yanmar filter. It sure looked like there was some sort of mechanism inside the filter. Is the Fram filter suitable?
What is an appropriate engine oil for the 1500D engine? One person suggested 15W40 Chevron Delo. To what standard do we need to match? I think the current is the star symbol. If it's appropriate for automotive diesel applications, is it appropriate for our tractors?
Does anyone know who to contact regarding getting the shroud that belongs over the front axle driveshaft on the 1500D? I know better than to take this unprotected shaft out into the acres of 5ft brush I have to rotary cut.
MY 1500D does not have anything covering the rotating front driveshaft. Is this model supposed to have a tube around that shaft or is it supposed to be exposed? Also, relating to my 1500D. Can anyone tell me what motor oil to use in this model? This is my first diesel and books have not arrived yet.
I have a brand new 4ft rotary mower and it has one blade that is free to swivel while the other is not so free to swivel. Are they supposed to be able to swivel or cinched down tight so they don't swivel?

I've been researching the grey market Yanmars and have deicded I want a 1510D. I will be using this with a 48" finish mower. Can anyone point me in the direction of a good source for this particular model tractor? I am in Indiana.
