    Dealer backing out of deal

I had a similar situation many years ago buying a car for my Mom. I'm a tough negotiator and I got what I figured, based on my knowledge of what the car was worth, a good price. Well, I brought my Mom into the dealer when the car was ready and the owner pulled me aside and told me they had made...

    Would You Loan It Out?

I'm glad you got your tiller back undamaged. Have to say I wish I had more neighbors like you. I tend to do the same thing you did. So I get why you did it. I don't think your an "Idiot", rather I think you are a really nice guy that tries to treat everyone the same way you want to be treated...

Will the CUT let you know you're asking too much?

I learned most of my heavy lifting lessons at work, many years ago. Hard to believe in today's age with all the safety nannies we have, but when I started out if you wanted to learn how to operate a forklift you got on and learned on your own. There is some good to this and a lot of potential...

    John Deere 430 Diesel

So thought I would give an update, I got the new Snap Ring a few days ago and put it on earlier today. The old one was indeed stretched and it must be why it wouldn't stay on. I have no idea how I managed to stretch this thing. But the new one is on and I mowed with it for quite some time and...

    John Deere 430 Diesel

Yea I thought it was weird that I over-stretched it too. I'll try to carefully put it on in the right direction. I kind of knew that but not sure if I paid attention when I put it back on as to the sharp side out. Live and learn I guess, thanks for the replies. In my defense, I'm sure it was...

    John Deere 430 Diesel

Yes, I used Snap Ring Pliers to remove it. But I think I over-spread the clip, I ordered a new one, looking for the best way to put it back on without ruining the new one. Was thinking of trying to pop it on with a socket the right size and a hammer? I'm thinking I shouldn't over-spread it then...

    John Deere 430 Diesel

It's a Circlip, and yes I used them, problem is I think I stretched it too far. So I need a new one. What I really need is to find a good way to put it on without overstretching it. I'm thinking maybe tapping it on with a socked and a hammer. Looking for any thoughts on this?

Zero turn vs hst tractor reliability

Yea I have to agree the JD zero turns pretty much suck. I have a large 27 hp one with the fixed collection system on the back, was a total waste of money. I can't use it for leaf collection cause the only time you collect leaves is when it's really wet out. And even in dry conditions it is...

    John Deere 430 Diesel

I had a flat tire last year, and I pulled the front wheel off by removing the dust cap and the C clip holding the wheel on. I'm reasonably sure when I put it back together I got the C clip fully in the slot. in the spindle. Well yesterday I pulled the tractor out of the building made a hard turn...

Dealing with leaves on a scut

I'll tell ya what I bought and how well it DIDN"T work for me. I got a JD zero turn with the hard-mounted leaf collection system. What an expensive mistake that was. If you have a wet lawn, and who doesn't in late fall, this thing is useless. I should have bought a regular tractor instead. JD's...
