New owner of tractor (diesel engine question)

So you're saying my headlights are supposed to be in the lower grill? Where do I get all of these information details? Will this all be in the 4 manuals Paystar told me to order? ( I think they will be here in a few days).

New owner of tractor (diesel engine question)

Just went and got the date code (just above what I captured in the pic above). 6E9C 1966, July 9th, afternoon shift. So this tractor is about 14 months older than I am. :p

New owner of tractor (diesel engine question)

I'm basing my opinion on the serial # starting with a B = England according to TractorData.com. Of course, I have heard of serial numbers being over-stamped, but why would someone do that? Stolen?

New owner of tractor (diesel engine question)

Yeah, and I'm wondering if they just turned the exhaust manifold 180 degrees, or is this a totally different part.

New owner of tractor (diesel engine question)

I know that it was built in England because the serial # starts with a B. It's really hard to read, but I think it is B043569. I wish the data plate was still on the underside of the hood, but alas... it is not.

New owner of tractor (diesel engine question)

So, After a pow-wow with Dusty this afternoon, it appears that the power steering is an aftermarket add-on. Which is no big deal I guess. As long as it works!! Dusty was able to grab a breaker bar out of his truck and turn the engine one revolution, so THAT'S good. I think I have something...

New owner of tractor (diesel engine question)

Appreciate the thoughts. I am actually in Tennessee, so, no "harsh" winters here. And I would very rarely want or need to use the tractor in freezing weather. Probably never. As far as I can see (I was able to rotate the battery tray out to get a look), there are no glow plugs. On the fluid...

New owner of tractor (diesel engine question)

I just bought a Ford 3000 diesel (with power steering... yay!). I have never owned a tractor, other than a lawn tractor before, and I have never owned a diesel engine before. This thing is in rough shape, but I got it for $1500. I suspect there may be some engine issues. May need a re-build...

The right hoe for an L2900 (Kubota)

Thought I would go ahead and post this in the proper forum. As I stated over in the "shopping" forum, I am heavily considering buying an L2900 from an acquaintance of mine. But it doesn't have a backhoe. I need one for the duties around my place. I would prefer to get one that is bigger than 6'...

Scam alert on the classifieds area

TractorByNet.com Classifieds Item 508468384 - 2007 Kubota L 3940 W/Attachments IS A SCAM. I found out when I started e-mailing this guy, and he said the tractor was in the "Ebay shipping center in San Jose, CA". That got me curious, so I googled it and found this: Does eBay store large items...

    Hello all....

This is my first post. Just wanted to say that I'm looking for my first tractor. Got a few leads. I tried an auction Thursday, but I didn't win the one I was looking at (2004 BX23 with FEL, BH, and BM, 569 hrs.). It went for $8700. My limit was $8000. I'm bummed about it. Anyway, just wanted to...
