When the teperature goes down well below freezing the joystick that controls the FEL on my tractor freezes up. It's a 4WD Fiat 55 HP. Sometimes it slowly raises but won't curl (or sometimes the other way around). I usually have to put the hair dryer to it for 5 or 10 minutes to get it working...

My Fiat won't start unless it's plugged in even when the temp is above freezing (around 5 celcius and lower). This is my first tractor but I thought starting in the cold wasn't a problem until it was really cold out. I guess some are different then others.

How many RPM\'s when running winch ? Just bought a Farmi logging winch (351 P) last week and can't find anywhere in the manual the exact RPM to use when winching logs. Anybody have an idea ?

When hauling logs do you always keep the tractor in 4wd or put it in 4wd only when you need it ?

Almost bought the 584 today that I was asking about. Found a deal on a Fiat 5546, 4WD with loader and around 2300 hrs, only $1,000 more then the 2WD 584. Need some quick info/opinions on it. I'll end up putting a winch on it and using it in the woods 2 or 3 days a week.

This is my first time buying a tractor, I found a Hesston 80-66 4X4 with loader. It will be used with a logging winch to haul logs. 5000 hours. I haven't bought it but just looking for some honest opinions.
