    BX1860 pressure test coolant

Yes, I unbolted the intake & exhaust manifolds, removed 3 fuels lines and one water hose, took out the rocker shaft and then it was just a matter of undoing the head bolts and lifting off the head.

    BX1860 pressure test coolant

Two of the three have tiny cracks in the exact same spot. No idea of the cause. I had been having overheating problems in the summer which kept getting worse. Tried everything that was suggested by my Kubota dealer - cleaning radiator fins, changing to synthetic oils, removing thermostat. Each...

    BX1860 pressure test coolant

Makes sense, I understand what you mean. Since I now have a better idea of what is wrong I might make a separate thread for how it all came about.

    BX1860 pressure test coolant

Sorry all, didn’t mean to cause any controversy or confusion. My tractor issues have been going on for a while, from the earlier symptoms had already been told the head gasket almost certainly needed replacement, so was already expecting to do it. There may be another problem as well so I’ll...

    BX1860 pressure test coolant

Hi rScotty, there was a lot more that lead up to this point, problems that had started well over a year ago. I’m happy to go through it all if you are interested, although it’s not really relevant to my original question of what is needed to pressure test the coolant system. I’m not sure...

    BX1860 pressure test coolant

The plugs I meant are what the manual calls "sealing cap", the two little round plugs pressed into the head.

    BX1860 pressure test coolant

Hi, I have a large coolant leak in my BX1860 - in just a few minutes of running, all the coolant went into the crankcase. It didn't really mix with oil, the oil was floating on top. So when I drained the crankcase, first the coolant came out and then the oil. I took of the valve cover and...

    FEL Frame mount alignment

Hi, today I was not able to get the loader onto our BX1860 - it seems like the right hand frame mount is angled slightly outward instead of facing straight ahead like the left hand side. Does anyone know where/what I should measure to check this, and is there any way to adjust it? The last...

    BX1860 HST fan replacement

Just after lunch today I told my wife we should get some skid plates for our tractor... then a couple of hours later ran over a stick and broke the blades off the HST fan :ashamed: Searching here I see that some people have cut the replacement fan to put it on without having to get the shaft...

    RCK54-B23BX Pulley part #

Hi, I need to replace one of the pulleys on our MMM. There are two pieces that are damaged, the pulley itself, and the piece that the pulley is bolted to that sits on the spindle - not sure what it is called. Does anyone know the part numbers for these, or know where I can find a parts...

    BX1860 Air in fuel filter

Hi all, yesterday I ran out of fuel and refilled, then finished up clearing the snow and put the tractor away. Today it stopped running after about two minutes and won't start. I see that there is air in the top of the fuel filter. The manual doesn't tell me how to bleed it now - it says...

    Implement for removing rocks?

Hi all, we recently had trenches dug for the installation of a geothermal heat pump, and some of this goes through area that used to be lawn. After the backfill, there are a lot of small rocks on the surface. Is there an implement I can pull behind our BX1860 that can rake these up? In all...

    BX1860 delivered today!

Got my tractor today, and so far I am really happy with it. I got it with loader, ballast box and 54" mower, on turf tires. After I get used to it I'll decide if I want to add on a rear blade, or do something else. I made a path of about 200 feet to the back of the barn through the snow, so...

BX or GR2110 for mowing + snow ?

Hi all, we are considering either a BX (1860 2360) or a GR2110. The lot is a bit over 4 acres, more than half is grass that will need mowed. In winter, (Ontario) I need to clear snow from about 100 feet of gravel driveway - and maybe also clear a path to a barn 150' away. I kinda think if we...
