Loader  L 4400 and an LA 950 loader

Does anybody know if this loader will mount on this tractor and is it too much loader for this tractor. The tractor does have front wheel assist. Would this be a job for a backyard mechanic to tackle? Thanks

    L4400, connecting to the PTO

Late this evening I tried, for the first time, to hook an implement to the PTO. I found out quickly that you cannot turn the PTO shaft to line it up with the splines of the shaft for the implement. What am I doing wrong? Is there a way to release the shaft so it can be turned by hand? Thanks, I...

    Exercised the L4400 today.

I took the L4400 out into the bean field today to kinda' give it a little break in. It walks the dog with the 7 ft. 3ph disk. It actually will pull it too fast. I got up to high 2nd gear with very little strain and finally backed off to keep the dirt from flying across the field. My first...

    Okay, I confess!

After spending all that time convincing the board I had no use for a 4WD and then going out and buying one, I ended up using it the first time I used the tractor. I cut down some tree trunks that were about 6 to 7 ft. long and 3 1/2 feet in diameter and dragged them to a pile away from the...

    Burning stumps

Anybody have any tips that would help when burning out stumps. These stumps are large and would take a dozer to dig out and they are in a place that would make the damage done by a dozer not worth getting rid of the stumps.

    Air bubbles in drinking water

My parents have a well and the water has a lot of fine bubbles in the water that dissipate after a time. He has a submersible pump with the tank in his basement. He recently added some more air to the tank and I think this is the problem. We turned the pump off and ran a lot of water out of the...

    Chain saw chains

I've used chain saws off and on for several years around the farm but I had never stopped to give much thought to the chains other than whether they were sharp or not. I was wondering if some chains are more aggressive or not. I recently purchased a new chain and it seems to cut faster than any...

    Finally pulled the trigger.

Well after much research and advice from you members of the board I finally bought the new toy. I had narrowed my choice down to the MX5000 or the 4800SU so I went today and didn't buy either one. I ended up buying the L4400 that I hadn't done any research on. So much for research! After a talk...

Dealer  Question on dealing with dealers?

As a rule, do tractor dealers leave room in their pricing to wheel and deal like car dealers or are their quoted prices pretty much it. I know when I go to Kubota dealers they all have what looks like the same book to quote prices out of but the prices are different from dealer to dealer.

Okay it's down to two models. Need a vote

Okay it\'s down to two models. Need a vote It's down to the M4800SU at $13,800 or the MX5000 at $13,500. Both are two wheel drive no frills except the 4800 is a shuttle shift. My needs are primarily bushhogging with some pretty steep hills, disking, mowing some larger lawn areas with a rear...

    M4800 tread width

Looking at the M4800SU and it lists rear tread width at 51.9-67.7. Where is the variation coming from since the dealer told us the wheels were not adjustable. Is it tire type?

    Value for the dollar?

I posted this story on another website but since everyone was good enough to answer my other post I thought I'd give you some food for thought. I took my father with me today to look at the new Kubotas because he has now decided at 86 years of age that he should buy a new tractor. On the way...

Kubotas - not what they used to be.

True or false. Kubotas today are not the quality they were 5 or more years ago. I keep hearing this but don't know if it is true or not. Is it?

Looking to replace a MF 135 with Kubota

I'm looking to replace a MF 135 with a comparable size Kubota. I have a 2 bottom plow, 5ft. bush hog, a 61/2ft. disc, and a 5ft. tiller that I want a tractor to handle pretty easily. I have priced an MX5000 that is the right weight and width as far as the tiller and bushhog cutting out it's...

    Mahindra vulnerability

I was looking at some of the Mahindras the other day and it seems like at least some of the models had filters and other items in locations that would expose them to damage on jobs such as bushhogging in heavy growth. Anybody have any bad experiences with this?

    Setting a turning plow

I'm ashamed to say how long I've been doing this but I have a 135 MF with one of the older ferguson 2 bottom plows that just doesn't like to follow very well. It tries to run too far inland a lot of the time. I've tried more or less point and leveling and it still doesn't like to do right. Any...

    Torque. Is it still around?

I've been sorta' checking out a lot of these new small tractors and comparing them with some of the older models and it has me wondering how these tractors will be a few years down the road. One thing that concerns me is the high rpms these tractors have to operate at to achieve their ratings. I...

Price Check  Need price help on 5030

Looking at a 5030SU utility special with 800+ hours. It is a 96 or 97 model and looks and sounds good. He is asking $10,750 and I was wondering how this sounds as far as price? I know it is hard to price a tractor sight unseen but I have no experience with Kubota and could use a little help. The...

    MF 135 PTO

Our MF 135 is equipped with a PTO that has the ground or engine speed option. Is this equivalent to 540/1000 or is it different? If it is different what speed would the engine speed be equal to 540 or 1000?

    Wet brakes vs. dry brakes

What are the pros and cons of the two? I've read posts on here about the wet brakes coming apart and clogging up the whole system. They mention that it is an expensive problem to deal with. Is this a rare problem and can it be prevented?

Is 540/1000 PTO available on the 6000

Literature lists only the 540 CRPTO but I was wondering if that had changed since I like the tractor otherwise.
