Pulling a stump jumper off a Land Pride rotary cutter?

Shafts on Bush Hogs are notorious for this. Seems to be the acid in the grass that welds it. I used a Harbor Freight 10 ton 3 jaw puller after breaking the 5 ton. Also an Oxy-acetylene torch to heat. MAPP gas is good, but couldn't get enough heat out of a small torch. I had assumed that I...

Is thirty years too long to keep a lawn mower?

I had a 1967 Cub Cadet that I could still get parts for easily. My tipping point was when I saw that i was working on the tractor more than mowing with it.

    Mid-Mount Mower  New Holland 25S 160GMS Mower

Right front guide wheel is bent slightly backwards on my mower(Discharge side). On the other side, in the front is a stiffener bolted to the bottom of the deck. Looked at the parts diagrams, and it looks like there is only the one stiffener, but it looks like there should be two. Anybody have...

Looking for LED lights to replace older 3x5 or 4x6 halogens

The Amazon ones are rated at 71 watts - about 5.5 amps @ 13VDC. LED's are a constant draw - current does not go up with voltage unless it has a poorly designed current limiter. The fuse is usually there to protect the equipment - #14 wire can handle 20A without any trouble. The heavier gauge...

Case IH 255 Tie rod and end links

I have a case 255 4wd. The tie rod pulled out of the left end, and there are not enough threads left to engage. Looking for a replacement, my dealer says that it is obsolete, no longer manufactured and that there are no sources for it in his aftermarket suppliers. Repair by welding seems to be...

Another fuel tank issue (E10) - Cub 104

I have an old Cub Cadet 104 with a Kohler K241A. I am getting flakes of something red in the fuel bowl. Seems the E10 is either eating the paint off of my gas can or creating rust. Additionally, the fuel that I drain from the filter and the carburetor float have fine black "powder" in them...
