...and the heavier they are the more ground compaction they impart and the heavier they are, the more plant damage they do. Why large tractors are now starting to come out with tracks on them. Tracks lessen the compaction and tracks destroy less crop too. Of course with a CUT, none of that...

The strength in any casting is entirely dependent not on the thickness but on how the internal gusseting is designed and cast in.

Neither my 2002 M9 with 6000 hours or my 2004 M9 with 3000 hours have ever been split and that is all farming hours. Do my own services too.

For the umpteenth time, don't matter what brand you buy so long as you have a good dealer close by. I never recommend any brand but I do recommend having a good dealer.

I don't have bi speed turn but I do have front (and rear) lockers. I rarely use the front locker but I do ocasionally. Nothing beats all 4 wheels turning together for maximum pulling power. BTW, sold my NH 450 bailer or should I say traded it in on ta new 2021 Kubota Premium 4x5 loaded and my...

EXACTLY, which is why I have Kubota's in the first place. My local dealer is a gem and I won't deal with anyone else and he also sells Cub Cadet and we have 3 Cubs, 1 zero turn, one RZT and a reverse tine tiller. My philosophy is simply, the dealer (and his service department is the most...

Unless you get into a large frame ag tractor like the Kubota M series for example, all Kubota and I believe everyone else as well uses ball bearings in the outboards (front wheel assist) instead of roller bearings and ball bearings, because of their limited contact area will fail when overloaded...

All distills down to what you want. 200 hours, wow. I can put on 200 hours in a week and a half.

Don't matter how cheap your prices are. When the money gets real tight (and it will shortly), even cheap is expensive.

Just wait until the economy goes south and your forage customers either vanish or demand rock bottom prices because they can no longer afford your prices. it's coming but you already know that. When push comes to shove you already know what takes the hit.

If I experienced a a major failure of my units, I think I'd just hang it up and be fully retired without the constant hassle of taking care of equipment. So far, so good, but who knows what the future will bring. No way buying new can ever balance cost to profit today and it's only getting...

One thing I've noticed and that is, with most used equipment (powered implements and tractors) there is almost always no owners manual included with the unit. I always wonder where it went to in as much as the majority of original owners never bother to read it anyway. Those owners manuals...

Huh???? At 71, my 'man card' expired years ago and really has nothing to do with the subject anyway. To me, it all has to do with the complexity of the drive system, the parasitic loss of power and the ultimate cost of fixing it when it fails (and it will eventually).

I know one thing, those tire suck for dirt work. Any of you ever used a hydraulic shuttle gear drive tractor, I bet not.

I don't care for the complexity of the HST either. Problem is a tractor with a dry clutch will be a major repair at some point in it's life as dry clutched tractors will always fail (clutch) at some point in their lives and a split to replace that consumable item is ALWAYS expensive. The BIG...

Kind of curious as to what happens when the economy finally takes the deep dive and all those 'suburbanites' that buy the small tractors can no longer afford to make the payments on them. reality is, when you have to choose from feeding your face or making a note on a piece of equipment, you...

Most large farmers around here LEASE their equipment (Combines and large row crop tractors), they don't buy them outright.

Mahindra's are so popular around here that honestly, I've never seen one in the flesh. No dealers no units, no nothing. The last one I physically saw was west of Jackson, Michigan at a customer's and it looked pretty crude, but that was at least 15 years ago. Since then, not a one. Now...

I rate any dealer by their service department, not the showroom and I go in and look at what they are working on and what they are doing and if I'm told I cannot be in there, I scratch that dealer off my list. You can have the nicest showroom anywhere but if your service department sucks, the...

far as I'm concerned it all distills down to dealer location and support and at some point you will need a dealer and a marginal dealer will be just that. Why I run Kubota's. Have an excellent dealer close by and in my personal opinion, Kubota is a better built unit. Your opinion may differ...
