    GT2554 update

Bought it new. Really can't remember which year it is. Anyway I just replaced the engine main seals. Not a particularity hard job. The driveshaft 'barrels' threw me for a loop for a bit but figured all that out. If someone could show mea pic of the throttle linkage, especially the two main...

    Cub Cadet GT2554 Starting Issue

Good Evening, I have a Cub 2554 (2009 or after), that is having giving me some trouble when it comes to starting. A few weeks ago, it just died while mowing, the wife "hit a bump," and it died. I charged up the battery and checked connections, nothing. Ended up replacing a 25 amp fuse, which...

    Cub Cadet GT2554 rebuild project

I just went and picked up this Cub Cadet from an older gentleman in Ohio who had an engine fire on the top of the engine due to oil leak. He put the fire out before the fire destroyed the entire machine, but the air filter housing on top and the throttle and choke cables are destroyed. The...

Any user reviews on GT2554 out there

Hey guys, I currently have an CC LT1050 and an Ingersoll 4016 that I use to cut the grass around the house (About 2 or 3 acres with a walkout basement and quite a bit of slope). I use the CC to make a few passes around the yard and cut around the trees because it handles much better than the...

So now that my GT is out of warranty, yesturday the hood broke off at the hinge bracket at two of the mounting points. Its a real mess and is very difficult to open and close now. This being hood #3 do I have any options on getting it replaced under warranty for free? I'm NOT going to pay...

    GT2554 battery life?

I recently had to replace the battery in my '06 2554. It made it 5 years and 186 hours which I think is probably typical of L&G equipment that sits a few months every winter. Just curious as to what others have seen for battery life on their Cubs.

    Scotts GT2554

I have a Scotts GT2554 riding mower. Scotts was the line of riding mowers that Home Depot sold a number of years ago. They were a joint effort between Home Depot, Scotts (fertilizer/seed) and John Deere. My first question is, is the the proper forum? I didn't see a "Scotts" forum. Probably...

    So....Hood #3 (06 GT2554)

So, after I replaced the original hood because of heat warpage and subsequent cracking near the latch after only 25hrs, now the replacement #2 hood has followed in it's foostep's in the same fashion with just over 50hrs. Now I was smart and had the dealer get me #3 replacement hood at the end...

    GT2554.... more observations

Took it to our property near the Tn River and mowed on very irregular ground. Slightly hill with ditches and such. I am amazed at the traction this tractor has on irregular ground and it's ability not to scalp the grass even when on odd angles. Traction going up steep banks was amazing. Backing...

    Comparison: model 1872 to GT2554

Just bought a new GT2554 to replace my 20 year old model 1872. Some comparisons. - 1872 is clearly much more heavy-duty and was built to be. They may not be in the same level of tractors but they are relatively close. The 1872 may be one level up from the 2500 series. - 2554 is much smoother as...

    Cub GT2554 Deck Problems

I have a Cub GT2554 that I bought last May, and it has 14 hours on it. Recently I tried to mow with it and when I engaged the PTO it would "white smoke" the belt from the engine pulley. I had greased the fittings but it seems that a bearing somewhere in the deck has seized up (It's presently at...
