john deere lx173

I bought a LX173 new and have been very happy with it. it has died and it is time for a new one. What would be about the same as the LX173 as they no longer make it?

Do you have to remove & disassemble the rear end in order to grease it. I noticed a rubber gasket on clutch side covering a little hole. Is this for a zerk? Any advice would be appreciated. Jeff
