I have a John Deere 05 LX280 and the pto quit. I purchased and checked the new pto switch, good switch. I next checked the pto clutch and it checked out. I then checked the ohms from the wire that runs from the pto switch to the clutch, all good yet I still doesn’t work. I run out of ideas...

Not getting power to the pto. Checked wiring all is good along with switch on transmission. Could it be a circuit board?

JD dealer has a 2005 LX280 with a 48" deck and 45 hours on it for $3100. I can get a new Cub Cadet SLT1550 from Home Depot for $2000. The JD has only 18 hp v. 25 for the cc. Is the JD worth the extra $1100? I will be using the tractor to mow a 1.5 acre lot, tow a utility trailer and snowblow.

I have a Lx280 with RIO switch. You have to hold up on the pto switch for it to mow in reverse. Has anybody figured out how to bypass this on this unit.
