06 TC40DA needs rear remote

Hi guys, new to this page, just closed a deal on buying a 2006 TC40 DA with a loader and 419 hours, always been stored inside and it shows (look like it was just off the show room floor). My question is it does not have a rear remote, and I am getting a box blade with it that I would like to be able to change the angle from the seat, so here is the question, $how much$ and is it something that a guy who has good mechanical skills can do? Also is there anything that I need to watch out for before I give the owner the check for the balance? Thanks a bunch

Check that the PTO engages and disengages properly. Make sure the cruise control works. Raise 3PH with weight on it, the FEL also, and see if they drop/sag after shutting off the engine. It will take awhile. I've found that most loaders will sag a bit over time. However, it should not drop rapidly so that you can actually see it. The 3PH should hold firm. Also engage/disengage 4wd and make sure that works. You may have to lift the front axle using the FEL for easy disengaging of 4wd. That's normal.

The price noted, $500 each for remotes is correct. That's not the installed price. It's an easy job, but you have to remove the right rear tire to do it. If you are the least bit mechanically inclined, you can do this job. If you can afford it, I'd suggest at least two remotes. I bought my tractor with one and later installed two more. I love having two remotes for Top-n-Tilt and one for my FEL grapple. Of course, I bought mine when they were $250 each or less.
