I'm in the market for a new or almost new tractor and I like what I'm seeing with the Branson line. I don't know if what I saw today was a gouging attempt or if prices on tractors are like diesel prices, higher than a cat's back.

I stopped in the Cleveland, TN dealer today and asked the out-the-door price on an '08 3510i with front loader, non-HS transmission and shuttle shift.

He consulted his notebook (he didn't have a 3510 on the lot) and said between $18k and $19k. That sounds a little high to me, but this is the first dealer I've checked. I'll be checking others.

The guy told me he had just taken over the dealership today and that things were in disorder. I don't know about taking over, but he was spot-on with the disorder. :D

I'm game to haul a tractor anywhere between Nashville and Asheville, Lexington to Atlanta if the price is right. One way or the other I'm going to get a new tractor in November. I'm doing the price homework now so I won't be blindsided then.

I currently use a Yanmar FX28D and while it's a good tractor, it's getting a little long in the tooth with over 3100 hours.

Can someone suggest another dealer in the above mentioned region that would have a more reasonable price?

People here dont talk about pricing much for whatever reason but I like to see a person get the best deal he can.

I bought my 3510i last January with bucket and hoe for $21500. The dealer 1st ask me $24500 so I shopped around and found I could get one for $20,900 with mentioned hoe and bucket but it was over 2 hrs away.

The local dealer came back and said the factory was offering a special and he could let me have it for the $21,500. I figured it was worth a few hundred to be close so we did the deal. He must have been telling the truth because he would not sell me the one he had he went to Georgia ( I think) and picked it up and deliverd to me that same week

I dont know if I got a good deal or not but I do know that I was happy with the price and I am sure the dealer made money so he is happy.

Like gldwing 57, I bought mine in January of this year. I paid a little over 18K for HST with FEL. I also purchased a backhoe which bumped up the price 6K more. I think that gldwing got a heck of a good price.

I also think that your dealer could do a little better for you (like 3K any how).

Different parts of the country contribute to the price difference I think.

Thats interesting, is your hoe a Branson? I like having a hoe but no more then I use it I would probably have been better off to rent one or hire it done.

Yeah, my hoe's a Branson 8620. I've got some pretty specific drainage issues around my property. I thought that buying the hoe outright my save me some hassle in the long run. I had the extra money at the time, so i just said to heck with it and bought the hoe. I think your probably right though. It is definitely a luxury. That being said i'm glad to have it.

What year is your Goldwing? I've got a 2001, love it.

I have the 7620BH on my 3510 and that was an upgrade from the recommended smaller BH. I didn't know the 8620BH would fit on a 10 frame. Must be a hefty hunk of metal on the back of the 3510.

I didn't know I was going to find so many riders on a tractor forum! I ride a 1999 Honda ST1100. I'm a V-4 Honda freak. Magna, Sabre, Interceptor, I've had 'em all. This is my second ST1100. I had a silver '91 model that got knocked out from under me by a drunk driver when it only had 104,000 miles on it.

My wife and I own and operate a motorcycle campground in southeast Tennessee and that's where I use the tractor the most. Mostly driveway maintenance, bush hog work, and using the loader to handle firewood and mulch.

devlin57 - I wanted the most reach possible. Looked at the options, had the dealer call Branson to make sure it was ok to put that hoe on the 3510. They said it would be no problem. You are right though, it's pretty good ballast for the front end loader.:D :D

jhunt1x - That campground is one heck of a great idea. I'll make sure to get the word around to the riders around here (there are a ton of them). If I can get down to that area, I know where I'll be staying. Good luck with your dream, I'll bet it's alot of work.

We've had quite a few riders from the Ohio area, Dayton, Columbus, Cincy, Bucyrus, and others. My wife was raised in Xenia. Grew up ducking tornadoes. ;-)

Come on down whenever you can. We're 6 hours from Dayton, it's a straight shot down I-75. Take Exit 60 in TN, go exactly 26 miles south on SR68, and you're here. If you want a cabin, be sure to call or email ahead for reservations. They fill up quickly on weekends (3 of 5 filled up since noon today) and some weekends during leaf peeping season this fall are already booked solid.

I'll probably hit some more Branson dealers in a couple of weeks. I'm off work on Monday but I have to catch a yearling bull and start fattening him up for his contribution to our winter food supply. Since he's never been tied, that's going to take most of the day. ;-)

Mines a 2000 with 24,000 miles. I bought it last year with only 17,000 miles. I am thinking about triking it this winter and making enough to put a big dent in the price of a new one. I would love to have an 1800

Of course I think they will have a design change in 2010 because they will be coming out of Japan.

So do you get to ride much
