Well i got my 210 and the 150 paired up finally, install on the Hyundai was a breeze (For Gilles Denis) anyway. Through the service spool we were getting around 53GPM on standard and a couple more on Heavy duty. First off I must say Holy ^%$# does that head spin it sounds like a 871 mounted on the end of the boom :) and even better does it ever cut !! After you teach your self to operate the excavator with a cutting head. I must admit at first I was a little annoyed cause I was trying to use the cutter like a front mount and cutting real close to the ground, well 6 teeth later I taught myself how to use it properly. I cleared about 2 hectares yesterday and it took me about 8 hours. The material is a good mix of mostly soft woods white poplar, jack pine, maple and a little birch. Sizes ranging from 3-8" material very, very dense though. Right now I feel production is low due to my operating and I'm sure it will increase. During that time I burnt about 2/3 of a tank of fuel (I think) This was with dull knives as I hit a few rocks buried in some wood piles. The operation is allot different than using a front mount for sure but not difficult in any way. Smooth and calculated movements are key don't waste any movements. I tried cutting some bigger trees 16" plus and the 150 ripped through them like they were saplings... very impressed to say the least. Once again thanks Laurent, Frederic, Gilles and the rest of the staff at Denis Cimaf for a exceptional product.

:D :D Off i go to cut more trees :D :D gotta make those payments lol

Congradulations on your newest head. You will have fun with the excavator. It's smooth of operation will spoil you.
Gilles makes everything look easy!!! I try to work with him every chance I set.
Do you have someone working for you to run the tractor your not? If so topping out big trees and grinding the trunks with the excavator and grinding the tops with the Bobcat I think you'll find it goes pretty fast that way.
Good luck and make money!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Robbie, yeah it does spoil you not to mention the air ride seat, the automatic a/c the absence of noise and trees smashing against the cab, I could go on for ever. I was cutting till 12:30 last night in a swamp were making a runway for a air service, the bog was so soft i couldn't walk in it without sinking. Try that with a skidsteer or the like. I have a few guys who I'm training but the pool is pretty dry here, there are people who know how to operate machines and there are "Operators" unfortunately we have people who know how to operate machines here. Actually I'm getting my 9 year old son into it, he's not actually cutting anything or operating the mulcher but he's operating the skidsteer to learn. I have a few young fellas working for me at my other business with about 8 years operating everything from graders to huge loaders in quarry's so my guess is they will be on the other payroll soon. Your right if I knew half of what Gilles knows I would be dangerous.. trying to round out the fleet soon with a tired prime mover with a 8' cut for line work and larger cuts.

I did the wrong thing buying my excavator with the intention of putting a groomer on the stick . My machine will burn a full tank of fuel , 318 litres per day at full noise . That's $600 of Diesel , around $900 return freight of the digger up to 40 kilometres . So if someone has 2 days work , it costs me $2100 without all the other costs we spoke of in the other threads . So i would need to charge around $6000 for the job to make any REAL money and i'm finding , talking to people they just wont spend that kind of money . Things are not good and are going to get worse , people are now concentrating on staying alive and feeding thier kids and a bit of scrub down the back of thier block can just wait . People are in trouble , they have been paying for fuel , food , house payments etc on credit cards , when one is maxed out they simply fill in the application they find daily in thier mailbox and get another one so they can meet the payments on the first one . They are now finding they not only owe big on thier house but also $60K on cards @ 25% . The first person that shows any interest in my machines will be taking them home , it's time to think SURVIVAL .
