Was digging through the barn looking for a steel wagon wheel (which we never found) and we came across a pair of work bench legs. I have no idea where I got these from, but I had a matched pair. We needed a table for our cabin up north and I had a bunch of lumber that I had bought from a historical society so i through it would make for a fun day project. Started at around 10am and finished with the last of the finish just before midnight. Cutting the table legs down took me quite some time because they had them welded together and didn't want them to come apart. Total cost? About $50 for a gallon of Watco, some screws and a 1x so I could reinforce the center of the table. The wood was taken from a pile of lumber that I got a month ago. I figure there's about 3500 bdft in the pile and I only paid $500 for it. The wood is oak and the boards planed out to be 1-3/4" thick.
